Chatara seems to be ok, still room for improvement to get back to pre-injury form

foreignfield wrote:Morning everyone,

I had a weird dream last night:

We were playing a Test match against Pakistan, Malcolm Waller comes to the crease, the tall Pakistani fast bowler starts his run-up and then suddenly bowls the ball about ten meters out from the crease. It's a sort of loopy leg-break which goes through where third or fourth slip would have been, and Malcolm almost runs himself out. The next ball is bowled similarly but it's even worse and ends up somewhere in the covers, the third ball trickles down leg to the boundary, a cheesy sub-continental ad comes on (involving a nondescript spin bowler come snake conjurer -- and a deodorant), then the fourth ball Malcolm almost manages to edge, but the ball evades him and the keeper for more byes. The commentators start to shout about "the worst over in history" and I'm frantically trying to post the words "Pakistan! Match fixing" while the stream freezes and the last thing I remember is that the over went for 57 runs.

If Waller somehow swats his way to 57 runs later today, I'll go crazy
Sad, even in dreams Waller is hit and miss :D

Can anyone else hear Ed and Dirk in the background?
Not sure who they are commenting for given the Afg stream is using Arabic.

I can hear Vusi

Not sure what's going on with the official tv broadcast. There was apparently suppose to be one.

Timely wicket.

The commercial breaks on Afghan TV are a bit of a change from the usual sub-continental staple: I have no idea what the cartoon with the Kaaba was about but before that I think there was an ad for giving up your machine guns to the authorities.

Looked like plenty of turn from Cremer when he got that wicket.

By the way is this the most amateurish TV broadcast of all time or what
To be honest I don't really care about the quality (it's better than nothing), it's the fact that it's not in English which is annoying because then you could just minimise and listen to the audio. With this, you're forced to watch the 1950's era camera angles :P

I love how they've minimised the Cricinfo scorecard to the top left to show the current score too.

And is it Vusi and Ed in the background is it?
Why are they commentating at all given it seems there's no English telecast of this. I'm having visions of Vusi and Ed just permanently in the HSC commentary box whenever a game is on - domestic, club level, you name it - just commentating on the game for fun.
