i personally think we put too much emphasis on the coach in Zim.
I cant see them having much influence in terms of getting players to turn fifties into hundreds and yorkers into wickets.

I think the selectors much more crucial.

Sometimes yes they are one and the same.

The Board has always managed to divide our national side, it’s full of snitches, not only of what’s being said amongst the players, but also how the various coaches are getting on. It’s a toxic environment. Until this Board is booted into touch and hopefully prosecuted it won’t matter who the coach is.
The days march on and there still appears to be no plans for age group tours, specialized coaching for the few good kids we have, no U19, no further feedback on Campbell’s or Mawoyo’s set ups.
I think they’re all waiting for the outcome of the concourt before they can breathe a sigh of relief and carry on with impunity as before. The players have a responsibility to get rid of them or there is no cricket for our kids and future generations, we need professional people running the show really urgently.

It seems they’re signing Rajput on a two year deal.

Coach is not a factor...its the bowling department Zimbabwe needs to look. At present not a single bowler is there with a threatening factor

It would be smarter to get a guy like Rajput to coach the academy side where he can help the next gen.

Problem is we don’t have the money for the academy side

Lance Klenuser compared to a real top order batsman like Andy Flower or Murray Goodwin, Gary Kristen
When Heath Streak took Ntini was deemed useless
Coaches are important
Good example under Whatmore M Waller, Jongwe & Mutumbani played like international cricket players

Playing is not a factor, how many have got success is what required. Under Whatmore players like Mutumbami, Jongwe, Mutombodzi, Taurai Muzarabani, Madziva, Sibanda played many games but none of them had success.

Whatmore is one of the coach known for turning weak teams into a competative side, he did it with Sri Lanka, did it with Bangladesh, but had failed with Zimbabwe because of the board politics & forced selections.
