But on the other hand, it could be a case of whoever wins the toss wins the game as i would not want to bat 1stmaehara wrote:Shortened game also works in our favour. Ya good point. With the covers being on for such a long period, the wicket would have gained some extra moisture. Perhaps a re think in the side before the match ?? Perhaps take out Cremer and bring in Rainsford ??zimfan1 wrote:But on the other hand, it could be a case of whoever wins the toss wins the game as i would not want to bat 1stmaehara wrote:Shortened game also works in our favour. I'm more getting at shorter games being levellers - the longer the match, the more likely that the stronger side (Sri Lanka) will prevail; the shorter, the more chance for us to cause an upset. But yes, it's still swings and roundabouts.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:Reverse can also happen in shortened matches
That would probably apply no matter how many overs we ended up with!zimfan1 wrote:But on the other hand, it could be a case of whoever wins the toss wins the game as i would not want to bat 1st

I was just concerned with the way we played in rain-curtailed T2O against SL in WCmaehara wrote:I'm more getting at shorter games being levellers - the longer the match, the more likely that the stronger side (Sri Lanka) will prevail; the shorter, the more chance for us to cause an upset. Interesting tidbit from Cricinfo:
A few of our readers have asked if the teams can change their XIs now that the match is set to be curtailed. The toss is yet to happen and the teams have NOT yet been announced, so it is all open. There will be a pro-rated reduction of Powerplay overs, and of course, the maximum overs per bowler.

If this is the case and we are indeed allowed to change our sides, I'd bring in Rainsford and take out either Utsea or Cremer. I think it would be Cremer going off his recent performances.maehara wrote:Interesting tidbit from Cricinfo:A few of our readers have asked if the teams can change their XIs now that the match is set to be curtailed. Well I don't think Sri Lanka are the lions you make them out to be. They had a poor T20 World Cup and their recent form has been very patchy. And just for the record "Short game" is Zimbabwe's strong point. If you look at our line up we have some very destructive batsmen. Taylor, Mazakadza, Coventry, Blignaut are four dangerous players that thrive in shorter forms of the game where they can play their natural gameanusha gamage wrote:hi boys
