Guys cricinfo often just guesses at the XI. Unless Moonda is an insider, take the 'likely' XI they pick with a grain of salt. Can't see how mawoyo would be left out.

How to take fans for a ride:
1. Leave out the only guy (OUT OF 15!) who brings calmness to the crease when he bats, and has the capability to dead bat even the best of the bowlers.
2. Retain a man who has not got a decent test score for ages, in the name of "handing a fresh start" while the previous start has never ended.
3. Drop your most promising spin replacement hoping to clean the egg on the face of the coach for the much publicized spat of over a year ago.
4. Drop your second best pace option available just because his surname is Masakadza.
5. Add insult to injury by replacing him with a guy who created an impression last season only in the presence of the guy you just dropped.
6. Feed the second best batsman of the side to the wolves early on and mess up your batting order, because his surname is also Masakadza.
7. Compensate all this with picking the best comeback in cricket history ever, and hope the fans would forgive you.

Hami may yet bat at 3. Sibanda could open with any of Vermuelen, Regis or Mutumbami - or any of the others for that matter. Who knows?

I think Tino must be fitness related - a little while ago we all expected him to be out. His injury may not have held up during the practise matches.

Could be, but if they were live tweeting Raza's broken thumb and Utseya's chicken pox, why can't they tell us what the reason was to drop Tino and Shingi?Jemisi wrote:I think Tino must be fitness related - a little while ago we all expected him to be out. Unfortunately, while the world should be talking about Vermeulen, it is Vermaelen that is trending

I think Shingi is a different case - just a non-selection we disagree with.
Tino's fitness may be more of a judgment call type of thing - not as stark as a broken thumb. But I could be wrong, he may have just upset SM or someone else. Even Hhm seemed perplexed, I think.

To be honest I don't really have any issues with the side, batting looks as good as it can be and bowling looks ok with Chatara taking the lead.
Can only watch the first session tomorrow before by own club match so let's hope we have South Africa 4 or 5 down by lunch

Well, the las 12 from which the final 11 will be chosen from had already been announced by 12pm yesterday afternoon, according to Tristian Holme and it looks like this:
BT, Chakabva, Chatara, Chigumbura, H Masakadza, Mutumbami, Nyumbu, Panyangara, Vusi, Tiripano, Vermeulen, Williams.
A debut in the offing therefore, for Tiripano and Nyumbu, and I think Regis Chakabva will carry the drinks.

There must be. Ten Sports has the rights in Asia, and probably SuperSport in SA/Zim?lobsang wrote:will there be live streaming of the match? any ideas guys?
