There's just no words to describe Maruma. His batting average is in single digits now.
At least Dabengwa surprised us from time to time with a quickfire 15.

Jubair will get you wickets but he'll also go for a lot of runs. We saw this in the test series.

These guys should take the powerplay right now. It's always the case that we go into the powerplay when it's too late to take advantage of it. Taylor and Mire at the crease and set, Chigumbura still to come... now's the perfect time.

For me and I shall keep repeating myself, Sibanda and Maruma need to go as far away from the national team and start again.
They are both a complete waste of space. You'd be better playing Ervine and give him a chance to change the minds of many.
Would of been nice if they had kept Waller around as well, although he couldn't bowl he would be better than Maruma with the bat.

Also, what do people think of Godwill Mamhiyo as a potential one day international? We talk about Burl and Welch a lot but Mamz was right up their last season with one day domestic runs and has started well this season with a 50 against the Mountaineers. Granted it is against weakers teams but you can only score runs against the people you are playing against

50 for Taylor!
What a partnership this is.

Good for Taylor to get another 50 under the belt. Needs to double it.

You're right GregorPJ. Waller is a bit of an up and down player, but his upside is quite high... he single handedly won that game against NZ a few years ago so it's handy to have someone with that experience in a team bereft of match winners. He's 10x the player that Maruma is and a better bowler as well.
I like Vusi Sibanda, I think at times he's a very good player. But unfortunately you have to look at his career overall... 31yo, 100+ ODIs and over a dozen Tests; all for an average in the low 20s... you can't pick him on "potential" any more because I don't think there's much room left for improvement. So the only question is whether he's taking the place of a more deserving player? With an average in the low 20s the sad truth is it probably puts him among the top 10 batsmen in the country. Probably not good enough to be an automatic selection, but not bad enough that he should be permanently discarded. Maybe his role going forward is as that extra batsman in the squad who comes in to play the 4th and 5th ODIs once the series is lost and the other fringe batsmen have failed.
50 for Taylor
It's good that he's made some runs in this ODI series.

Same issue as Burl and Welch. No centuries at domestic level - until you can do it at domestic level then how can you be expected to do it at international level? His FC average is worse than Chari's too. Also, what do people think of Godwill Mamhiyo as a potential one day international?
