A big outrage on Social media now about why the WC is reduced to only 10 teams and why should WI or Zim be playing this game here in Qualifiers and not in the WC?

All this because now former champions are in danger of missing out. Had Zim lost yesterday no one would have cared. What Zimbabwe and others can do here is that they can create an Impact that will leave the ICC in an embarassed and shameless state. It can help in ensuring no future WC is played with only 10 teams.

Timing aside. It’s a fair point. Absolutely terrible decision to go to a 10 team World Cup for sooooo many reasons.
Their ultimate justification of wanting the 10 team round robin format turned out to be a dud too. Too many viewers tuned out.

Even if they had simply said top 10 qualify and 2 extra go through in the CWC this situation (which should have been foreseen) could have been avoided.
Imagine this tournament without SL and WI (who I assume were ranked 9/10) and it would be Zim in the box seat with a fight between Ireland, Scotland etc

2027 is back to 14 teams so thankfully the 10-team debacle is over.

Ireland Knocked Out, so we've got to beat Oman and Scotland and we are through guys. I'm quite certain SL will beat WI. Even if WI somehow force a 3 way tie, atm Zimbabwe are way ahead of them on NRR.

Maybe it's just the nerves but I have this weird sinking feeling in my stomach about the Zimbabwe vs Scotland game it's scaring me.

I actually think we are more likely to beat SL than Scotland. Trust us to mess up against one of the weaker teams  I'm half Scottish too so that really would take the piss

Sri Lanka having their last match against the windies scares me. What if they already qualify and take that match too lightly? Surely they'll have a nrr light years ahead of everyone.

I'm not happy with that either but I'm sure it won't be as straightforward as that. SL or WI will face one more defeat in between.
