If Zim lose even a single game in the damn sub regional qualifiers I will spontaneously combustsam_ahm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:32 amConfirmed that Zimbabwe will indeed play the sub regional qualifiers.
2 teams qualify from that competition for the main qualifiers. Surely they can't mess this up! Zimbabwe and Kenya should go through.
Will they schedule some fixtures ahead of these sub regionals??? May be not but Let's see.

Can't see them losing any game but we can never say anything about the weather if washes out a game Or something. However since there are 2 teams going through, even a washout game should not endanger the progress.tgk wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:39 amIf Zim lose even a single game in the damn sub regional qualifiers I will spontaneously combustsam_ahm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 11:32 amConfirmed that Zimbabwe will indeed play the sub regional qualifiers.

I've observed Jersey faced a washout in the recent Europe sub regionals... Still they are on track to qualify.

Surely, even the worst Zimbabwe aren't losing to any of these teams.
lol Seychelles is ranked 86. Gambia is 90th and the lowest ranked T20I team. The only goal for these games is to break records. Bat first and aim for 400 with someone scoring 200.

Yeah and it's quite wierd that full members have to go through sub regionals. I can understand the regionals but surely they should have some rankings cut off for sub-regionals.

No, I think it's fair. I'm all for meritocracy in cricket. In fact an ideal world every singe full member would have to play regional and even sub-regional qualifying (They do in every other major sport! See football....) . But at the very least Zimbabwe should start from the sub-regionals this time because we deserve it after fucking up last time around.

It will go wrong always does. Can bet the farm on that.

Watch them send a B team and there's a hiccup.
It will be the end for me.
Goes beyond the call of duty supporting Zim.

Confirmation in English media today that the Zimbabwe Test in May 2025 will be at Trent Bridge, not Lord's. Also the pavilion will be going 'under renovation at the time' and the 'players are likely to be required to change in temporary facilities'.
