[Match thread] Only Test - Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh
Re: [Match thread] Only Test - Zimbabwe vs Bangladesh
A great start to Brian Vitori's career with 4 wickets. I get the feeling that even if he had picked up 10 wickets some on this forum would still think he shouldn't have been selected. Great to see Jarvis pick up a wicket also - he probably deserved four.

This match shows the dangers of having no TV coverage. Looking at Jarvis figures, me and the rest of ZCF would probably be calling for his head, wondering why he was picked ahead of Meth. But dispite only 1 wicket and being the most expensive, he was threatening and was unlucky in so many ways. I kept having Bret Lee mental images whenever he was bowling! But Kepler Wessels raised important points about him needing to get more energy into his action and being fitter. So I believe the competition between him, Meth, Shingi, Chatara and Ncube must be fairly refereed and the national team would reap the benefits. If England can do it ....

Surely Vusi has to be our best batsman!

You're not wrong there.eugene wrote:A great start to Brian Vitori's career with 4 wickets. I get the feeling that even if he had picked up 10 wickets some on this forum would still think he shouldn't have been selected. Great to see Jarvis pick up a wicket also - he probably deserved four.
So what's a good score in the second innings? We have a modest lead which helps... I reckon if we could get in a good position to declare by tea on day 4, then that gives the bowlers the best possible chance to push for victory. If things go nicely, maybe 300 declared? In the 90 overs before tea, that's really only a bit above 3 an over which would give an overall lead of around 380.

Does anyone have a link which still works? All channels I've tried have switched to the SL-AUS match. Thanks!

380 would be a good lead and should mean that only one team can win this test match. I can already see Price taking the key wickets and Jarvis and Vitori cleaning out the rest!

We need to bat out this session first just like we played on day 1. We have enough classy players at 3 and 4 and if we can do well in morning session tomorrow then the firepower of Elton and co can surely take us towards a match winning total. Whatever it may be Price will take care of theses minnow batters. They just dont know how to bat. They must take home Tino's batting highlights. More than Vusi i am impressed by this lad both against Aus A and now against this test countrybrmtaylor.com admin wrote:

Ah, there it is back.
The eternal pessimist in me is not getting carried away too much. I'd be satisfied with two wickets down at the close, honestly.

He surely is the best to watch. So let's hope he does an Ian Bell and finally delivers the goods in international cricket.hhm wrote:Surely Vusi has to be our best batsman!
