I don’t know. Is that not correct English? It’s used often, especially in e.g. football fixtures. ‘Who are you guys playing this weekend?’ ‘Oh we are at home to Arsenal’. I have been in grim England for three months, forgive me. This place is probably sending me insane.

It may be specific to football then. I don't think I've heard Brits use it that way, but I'm not as familiar with British English as someothers on this forum.

England isn’t that bad, not as peaceful as KweKwe but I don’t mind it here. Plenty of decent cricket grounds scattered around.

Boxing Day will see Man Utd travel to Wolves, and they will finish the 2024/25 campaign at home to Aston Villa on May 25.

It's good to go there every so often. Stay there just long enough to be really grateful to come back to this shithole

The traffic here sums up everything. They've decided at the 11th hour to dig up every major road and put in massive highways for the Sadcc summit, but only to the places where the delegations will be going.
The other roads are now completely fucked because people are trying to find detours. Those will never be repaired because they won't be seen.
The presidents don't like Meikles hotel (5 star) so each one is getting a presidential villa built.
They don't like the VIP section of the airport either. Vital to have that when you're basically walking thru and waving.
It's days away and they're weeks from finishing if they work a 24 hour shift. They knew they were hosting a long time ago but I think the delays were due to squabbling over who and how the hundreds of millions would be liberated. We're already bankrupt but this makes it a lot worse. They're going to have to give away the other half of the country to the Chinese to pay for it. Those guys must wonder daily at the willingness of African leaders to hand over whole portions of their countries for trinkets.
Those early explorers buying countries for glass beads and cloths hasn't changed
It's a chaotic disaster and still not as poorly run as ZC. and still not as corrupt as America.

And our mess back home naturally spills over into South Africa. Embarrassing being a Zimbo over here

The sad fact is they can still point a finger at us when they've completely destroyed their country, they just don't know it yet. The mortal blow has been delivered. What they've done to Joburgh CBD is a snapshot of what's coming.

Current outcry is a girl of Nigerian descent contesting to be Miss SA (Born here by the way), made me think of good old Naqvi and how there is no street protests along 1st street over his citizenship.
