Only if Bangladesh wins. If they lose thats pretty big. We're at 147-3 right now when it should be 147-1. Thats a pretty huge discrepancy.

I hope all we are thinking is win here. There is no other way out of this game safely.

Andrew: "Don't forget that the
umpires turned down two plumb
LBWs when Zim bowled the first
time. Hopefully it balances out but
the standard is really bad!"
poor umpiring is definitely an issue for the `smaller` teams. The west indies series was a good example. If this ever happened a bigger team there would be an outcry.

Yep, too much time is left in the match. One way or another there will be a result. Still 90/10 in Bangladesh's favour though, they are effectively 3/152 and one good partnership away from batting Zimbabwe out of the game. If they aren't say 6/100 then the opportunity has passed. They don't need to make too many more runs to secure the game.

yup ... and if BD wins ... I'll always wonder how much difference another 25 from Shingi (like the first test) in a 40 run partnership closing the lead to 70/75 might have helped pile on a bit more pressure to BD, who have wobbled a little under less pressure. Context is everything...

If you use my context + add the not given catch behind then in fact BD could be under 100 for 2 ...

Happy for Shingi in that session. Meth's injury turning out to be a blessing in disguise for the lionhearted performer.

Cremer has a tough job in this innings. He needs to be tight as well as take wickets. If he picks up 3 wickets and 2.5 rpo then he will have done his job. We need Jarvis to nip out a few in this innings now that Meth looks like he won't be bowling.

Have you ever heard of the "circular flow" of money? Something similar can be extended to the concept of run scoring in cricket. Suppose Shingi had scored an extra 25. Suppose Chakabva scored another 25. Thats an extra 50 runs, right? Now subtract 13 from Chigs score because he should have been out on 73 (fair is fair). Thats an extra 37 to ZIM's total, lets call it 40. That takes our lead down to 70.

Now being generous, Tamim would have likely scored 50...that is 43 runs right there, he alone negating Shingi + Chakabva. In fact, ZIM still comes out 6 runs on top. Had Tamim hit a 100, thats a bonus 56 runs for ZIM. Moving onto, Ashraful. Purely based on averages, he would have scored another 20. Thats a net differential of +76 runs total for ZIM so far. Lets see what happens with Shakib, Mushfiq, and Nasir's dismissals.

This is just based on the umpire decisions.

Had Shingi scored 200 with Cremer supporting him, then maybe Zimbabwe would win this game by an innings :P

With umpiring decisions... it's swings and roundabouts. Both teams are on the receiving end of shockers every now and then, over time it evens out. It's part of cricket.
