Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
Re: Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
And they were playing for our survival because ZC, through their mismanagement have gotten us to this position in the first place. There’s only one direction to point a finger.
Re: Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
This is how I feel. I dont support this board at all. Metbank has too many close links to some of the past and present board members. Stinks of corruption. At the same time the players endorsed them by continuing to play and giving up county contracts to come back and play for the same guys. Heath Streak and Taibu endorsed them by signing up. Even guys like David Coltart are crying foul but he endorsed them previously.foreignfield wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 9:31 amThere is one group of people (or two if you add the coaching staff) who have given everything they could but failed at the last hurdle. And then there is a group of people who don't seem to get much if anything done and a squandering the future of the game in Zim.
I know which group I want to continue to support; but it doesn't mean that I can't criticize them.
As for the other group, they should just go!
Googly can cry foul because he has been crying for a while and has not changed that position. As for the players you cant cry foul after you let miĺlions of people down. Not only that they didnt cry foul until guys got fired. So if the entire technical team had been given another year to do something would they have complained? They are also part of the problem.
If a captain like BT is picked and they get a decent coach and the money they are owed they will keep quiet again. Do they cry when their domestic setup brothers are given peanuts months after it was due? Would they have cried if they had beaten the UAE and received their salary arrears and 40k bonus? These guys are also part of the problem but they dont want to see it. You cant cry foul when you do somethig wrong then the oppressor who was hurting everybody else turns on you. They also made mistakes. Nobody is perfect in this scenario

This. Could not have put that better. But sad to see so many idiotic comments by many Zimbabweans all over the social media supporting the wholesale sacking and not questioning either the intent or the lack of ownership of the board.foreignfield wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 9:31 amThere is one group of people (or two if you add the coaching staff) who have given everything they could but failed at the last hurdle. Even in sacking, there is a respectable way that ensures that the bridges aren't burnt. This is utterly disgusting and obviously driven by the desire to save money (and possibly fill their own coffers) but how can so many common public not see through this?
For Taibu in particular, I won't be surprised if this has come in as a rude shock. He has always been a man in control of his own destiny. He has walked away from things on his own if he hasn't been able to achieve what he wanted to, but this would have brought back memories of the ugly episode with Bvute. I doubt whether he or Streak would ever commit their hearts to the cause of Zimbabwean Cricket again.

Will be interesting to see what happens now with the Rising Stars situation.

Re: Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
Yeah, that could be in deep trouble too. No benevolent sponsors in the UK would believe a new face in charge of that (if at all). Taibu was probably the only Zimbabwean who could have made it work, and that too only in UK as well.
Re: Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
Yeah thats a tough one. Would be sad if we lost that. Matsikenyeri was part of that. Was he fired as well?
I think they will continue with it. In most work environments when you get dismissed you hand over all your documents etc so they should be able to access to all the important stuff but then again Taibu was based in England. Also depends on how much was based off sponsors and funding from ZC. Got a feeling that if Taibu throws some spanners to stop it from taking off they will move it to either SA where it will be cheaper or India where they were offered full access to some academy. Those boards are also friendly to them

This is a great concept: BUT send players over to UK? Really? The worst weather in the world, one of the most expensive countries in the world. Will be interesting to see what happens now with the Rising Stars situation.
Guys get flown over and stay 3 months at the cost of $250k!!
Send them to TUKS high performance and play south african teams for a year for less! Or as Tapsc says to Indian. Much cheaper and much more experience.
Clearly ZC have got ICC to send money direct to UK so its externalised now they just need to send Singo over to make sure the players sleep on the streets and use soup kitchens so ZC can keep $245k over there.
Re: Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
So you’ve learnt about Singo?
That money goes straight into his pocket.

Re: Graeme Cremer removed from Captaincy
Has Singo been sacked as part of this shake-up?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Thousands would take to the streets like the freedom march if he was.
