The man who completed century of centuries in 1998 itself
The man who completed remarkable 405 not out for Worcestershire in 1988
The man who scored 1000 runs in an English summer for the 19th time,
The man who always inspire Brandes to bowl a deadly spell when he comes out to bat
The man who could have served Zim for a very long time had he been selected in any playing Zim eleven of WC 83.

If i'm not wrong, answer to this question is -Zim's loss, World cricket's gain- G A Hick with more than 500 FC matches, more than 40,000 runs, more than 100 hundred and fifties.

Okey, its my turn to ask now.
Who was the first Zimbabwean to achieve the proud feat of getting test wicket in the first over bowled by a debutant?
Intresting one, scratch your head.

I have a feeling Mpofu took a wicket in his first ODI over, but that's not the question :P

Stab in the dark time... you say it is interesting so it must be a part-timer. I'll go with Grant Flower.

I'm not aware that any Zimbabwean has - at least, not while playing for Zim. I have a list from 2006 of 13 players that have taken a Test wicket with their debut ball, and no Zimbabweans on it - so I call "trick question". :)

...or I'm misunderstanding the question, which wouldn't surprise me either..!

Its not a tricky question, rather simple one. This is a great feat-to take TEST wicket, in debut mt and that too in first over. Search the first Zim.
I may tell you the second player to achieve this feat-H.Olonga in Zim's first test win. He took wicket on third ball of S.Anwar.
The gentleman i'm asking took wicket on his fourth ball, first mt.

Ah, I was looking at wickets on first ball - so yeah misread the question. Ooops.

Back to Google we go...! :)

I am guessing it is Ujesh Ranchod, who played his only test against India in India during the 1992/93 series. He got the wicket of none other than Sachin Tendulkar...

It was not Ujesh. He took Sahin's wkt in debut test but not in First over. Narrow down your search, opposition was not India rather it was the test team with whom Zim was very competitive in early days of test arena.
