Re: PJ Moor
He can keep wicket as well. If the scorecard from a few days ago is correct. Not that we need anymore keepers; Maruma will be our first choice from here on. That's when he's not bowling teams out by himself.
Re: PJ Moor
He'd appear to be well off selection from IRL alright, I'd have thought he'd be doing well to be even considered for selection for Leinster Lightning in our Inter-Pros, they can practically field a team of Internationals and there's a good few young Irish-produced players in their squad who would be next in line (IMO). Mind you, he had a very poor season in NCU last year, perhaps we've not seen the best of him yet, but if he jumped any queues now I'd expect an uproar here.eugene wrote:The article only states that he is eligible for Ireland. Not that he is going to play for them. To be honest I think he is closer to breaking into the Zimbabwean team than the Irish.
The 'Ireland' thing might be related to restrictions in Leinster on non-Irish First Class players being fielded by clubs, I think by declaring himself Irish (and having legal basis of passport/citizenship) he becomes eligible to play club cricket there. Craig Ervine did the same to avoid being counted as an overseas player in NCU, despite not being eligible for another 4 years.

Re: PJ Moor
It jut sounds like he is having a 2 way bet Ireland and zim.
Whoever picks him first takes the cheese.
But fuck me- wouldn't you?

PJ said via twitter direct message that he hopes to be selected for Zimbabwe, but needs to convert his starts into big scores.

Re: PJ Moor
I wonder if he is an outside bet for the Tri series against South Africa and Australia, you get the sense that the selecters and coaches are getting frustrated with a few players such as Maruma, Waller and Raza which may be an opportunity for either a Moor or Mutumbambi or even Kasuza.eugene wrote:PJ said via twitter direct message that he hopes to be selected for Zimbabwe, but needs to convert his starts into big scores.
I think it would be only fair to give Mutumbambi the next chance due to his performances over 3/4 seasons but Moors name must be in the discussion.
