If it were Waller or Chakabva Id maybe understand...Hami...maybe Ewing or Matsi should have a go...or maybe its just a terrible day and Vusi off to Aus...kind of casts a dark cloud over Jarvis' brilliant five for..
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu

Matsi should definately tour NZ.

Whoa, calm down! We have to at least give NZ a chance...Zimfanatic69 wrote:FlowerPower wrote:If it were Waller or Chakabva Id maybe understand...Hami...maybe Ewing or Matsi should have a go...or maybe its just a terrible day and Vusi off to Aus...kind of casts a dark cloud over Jarvis' brilliant five for..

Oh, forgot Duffin. He'll replace Mawoyo after he wins it for us, while Ewing holds Vusi's spot!

Good to read something positive...Im really depressed its roller coaster stuff first Jarvis 5* then Vusi leaving then decent recovery then Hami debacle....now a positive hhm post...thanks mate...agree with the Chakabva theory actually would send him in next...hhm wrote:I missed the last bit of action. Sounds like what Hami did was stupid! 2 down not all lost....
Bayhaus, I of all people will now hope Tino carries his bat - with another century&half to go with it there, while Taylor, Taibu, Waller & Chakabva bat around him. Actually, I'd like to see Chakabva come ahead of Taibu & Waller. Those two can't curb their instincts to attack and I fear they might trigger another collapse. So if Tino falls, Regis should be our man! We should look to tread cautiously, use up time and keep wickets, while we put away all bad balls which come away.
Jarvis' impressive exploits have certainly spurred Martin & Bracewell on. The old man is getting it to swing!
Hopefully the umpires will be lenient with LBWs calls against us. They stuffed up Vusi's innings and hey, homeground advantage, so home decisions.

I'm always positive mate. Trust me. There's plenty of evidence in my comments. It's OUR other 'fixations' which blind us to it!FlowerPower wrote:Good to read something positive...Im really depressed its roller coaster stuff first Jarvis 5* then Vusi leaving then decent recovery then Hami debacle....now a positive hhm post....

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe v New Zealand: Test Match
I think preserving the batting order is okay. Taylor and Taibu are next in, there's a lot of experience between those two guys. Maybe you could send in Waller before Taibu - just by virtue of the fact that Waller is in great touch against New Zealand with 170 odd in his last two international games without being dismissed - but despite that I still wouldn't like to see the order shifted. Taibu is not to be underestimated; remember his restoration effort against Pakistan. If he is required to bat tomorrow, which he almost certainly will be, hopefully he'll have a fair bit of time with other top and middle order batsmen rather than the tail.
So what is the plan for tomorrow? It will be hard to keep wickets in hand, but one big partnership will change everything. If Mawoyo and Taylor can bat out a session, suddenly the draw is within sight. The win is gone, Zimbabwe cannot get 3.40 an over without taking undue risk - which would be a stupid thing to do with 90 overs remaining. If there was 100 runs remaining with 20 overs to go and 5 wickets in hand with, say, one of Waller or Taylor at the crease... maybe then you could entertain thoughts of a win but one more wicket exposes the fragile tail. Go for the draw I reckon.

AS it is confirmed Vusi is leaving the solution is easy.
Open with Hammie or Brendan and bring Matsi back into the side.
That, at least, would not weaken it.
