Just saw a convoy drive past towards Takashinga and it got me wondering why Zim is chosen to host these WCQs. With the sorry state of our roads and pretty much everything else except the lively atmosphere at the grounds, why does it make sense for ICC to go with Zim? You wonder if QSC, let alone Takashinga, has even changing rooms and related facilities to cater for WI or SL for example. Players who have been hosted at the best venues in the world.

Ya it's weird - the last two CWCQ's. And the T20 Qualifiers last year. And the women's world cup qualifiers 2 years ago as well I recall?

Plus we are hosting the 2026 U19 world cup. And of course a handful of games in 2027.

TM has certainly made friends with a lot of people in the ICC in recent years. He's on a lot of the committees. I still think he's eventually setting himself up for another tilt at the top ICC job next time around.

It's all gone on Takashinga, no surprises there!

The same money they've spent on Taka - if you spent that much on OH you'd have a seriously good second ground.

Over 150 cricket clubs, almost all with their own grounds and nets. Access to the English system, English leagues, universities, etc. And a very long cricketing heritage.

Add to that the influx of white South African players after the quota system in SA. McMullen, Sole and Greaves all are South Africans
