Does the management have decided to pick other wicket keepers as bench warmer and drink carriers.?

J Gumbie has performed in domestic cricket and should be in the Playing XI replacing Chakabva
Ever watched how he bats? If not then you should not opine as to who needs to be picked. You only see someone's potential and talent when you watch them bat and bowl thoroughly. I think Zimbabwe should start grooming Marumani since he has some sort of keeping experiences so that Zimbabwe do not have to waste a spot for a specialist keeper who could not contribute with the bat. Marumani could become a star if he hones his keeping skill to adorn his batting ability. He is explosive, talented, young and fearless in his approach. With Madhevere, Muzarabani, Myers, Marumani, Shumba, Burl and couple of other kids on the fringe, nothing is more exciting than right now for Zimbabwe cricket. A year or two ago people were saying stuff like Zimbabwe would be done once those four seniors retire but the picture in the background much better now with the arrivals these promising lads from Under-19 team.
Why not give a try ? If he doesnt performs then there is no reason of including him in 15 member squad, whenever he gets picked in any format, he warms in the bench and 13 years experienced once in a blue moon performer Chakabva who scored just 47 runs in last 3 odis gets an edge over others.

To be fair, Regis has done ok in Test arena but yes his ODI records is far from being impressive but his FC records is quite impressive. He has the technique to play both Test and ODI but there is some kind of mental weakness in his game that is bothering him to rise to the occasion.

Bro, when he will rise ? He is 13yrs experienced in international colours for Zim. Already 33+ now, career has been mixed with full of inconsistency. Peter Moor is in line of making debut for Ireland.Ryan Murray doesnt know what he wants to pursue, Gumbie and others are regarded as less talented. So, who is there to make this wicket keeper batsman position useful ?

This bio bubble stuff is tricky. The problem is if they mess it up once we will never be able to host again. They cant take chances.

I expect a better performance with Wes, Marumani, Raza and Burl in the mix. Plus Chatara as well. Bangladesh are also missing a few guys. It's only fair. These are crucial games but we also need other guys to step up.

For me

Marumani
Wes
BT
Myers
Chakabva( wk)
Raza
Burl
Jongwe
Wellington
Blessing
Chatara

Chakabva is going to play whether people like it or not. He cant clear the ropes to save his life. Let him take the Ervine role and knock it about whilst anchoring for Raza and Burl and Jongwe.

I got a feeling Myers is going to come good. It's also raining right now. Let's hope tomorrow there is some clear weather

I also expect if we get smashed tomorrow they will bring Ervine and Williams back
You mean Zimbabwe can never host? What you mean dude? Is Covid-19 gonna keep us down forever? This Covid shit will be over by the end of 2022 for sure or there will no problems hosting teams by the end of 2022 and this biosecure bubble shit will also be gone.
I'm saying that if we get positive covid cases in the bubble nobody will want to come and the government won't give us passes anymore. This is why they are being extra cautious

Make Marumani keep, he has got the youth, time, talent and diligence on his side to learn. Marumani being a keeper will create a room for an extra batter.

6 pages already even before the start of the game ..the excitement on this forum is buzzing after a long time .. probably cause we are almost playing a full strength team on merit ..with no surprises (hoping maruma doesn't make the cut) excited to see marumani madhevere Myers and shumba ..lot depends on muzarbani ..Bangladesh are also without Mushfiqur and mustafizur ..great chance to start well ..

I really wanna see Myers Marumani Madhevere Shumba all play, at least 3 of them in the XI. Loads of talent there, maybe I shouldn't have this much belief in them but for some reason I'm expecting great great things.

Zimbabwe: Wesley Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Brendan Taylor, Dion Myers, Timycen Maruma, Regis Chakabva, Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava

Bangladesh: Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Md Mithun, Mosaddek Hossain, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam

Zim opt to bowl

Maruma is playing then :///// Raza still injured? I'd have played Shumba over him. Hell I'd have played Tiripano over him. Good to see Chatara back, hopefully him and Blessing get some wickets.
