It flopped due to low tv ratings . No one cared about the games outside of teams that involved IPL teams. That is why they kept on increasing ipl teams from two to four but ultimately had to shut it down due to low ratingssam_ahm wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 2:23 amI believe Champions League T20 was scrapped because IPL sides were losing to some side from Australia or England or South Africa despite having the best players available for them. That was massively damaging the image of IPL sides.zimbos_05 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 12:52 amI lost interest in the IPL after the 2nd season. It's not a proper cricket competition. Reading that matches are going over 4 hours long this season. That's not how T20 is meant to be.
BCCI just have the money.

Yeah that was the main reason I understand, but that tournament was not doing IPLs reputation any good.tej_27 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 06, 2023 2:38 amIt flopped due to low tv ratings . Hate IPL and don't follow any of it, but want Raza to do well anyway . Happened to watch the very first ball Raza faced in the IPL though, as I was at my friend's place, and they had the match on. Hitting someone as accomplished as Southee to a boundary in the very first ball he faced was very satisfying.

The IPL is vasty over-rated. If it really helped build cricket skills, the Indian team would have won more ICC championships than they have in the 15 years the IPL has existed. Its only real use is in generating a ton of revenue.

Re: Raza in IPL
The idea of adding those 9th and 10th teams has resulted in depleted quality across teams. MI have suffered massively as some of their key players have been lost to other franchises.
This Impact player rule is another stupid rule chance, it serves no purpose other than making it a 12 players aside game and further depletes the quality. It is also very confusing for a viewer and results in more one sided games.
IPL with 8 teams was just right, whatever they are doing now is just stupid and it will reflect in the viewership ratings.

It would seem the mere act of counting things and grammar are also now considered to be woke. Science, medicine, history, and now math and English. Whats next on the hit list? Theatre arts? Physical education? At what point do we go back to living in caves dressed only in fur and skins?

Are you having some kind of breakdown?

But SZ, posting about something doesn't mean you 'rate' it.

Raza dropped. Doubt we'll see him again.
