He just had so much to live for though, that's what hurts the most. He had so much loving fanily and friends, lived on a beautiful farm and lodge, had money behind him and wanted to make a difference to Zimbabwe as a nation in general. He gave back so so much where others only took, yet he's the one who has taken his last breathe. Incredibly sad day and one that'll stick with me for some time. I truly hope one day we have the means to beat such cruel illnesses.
Colon cancer can actually be beaten if it’s caught early enough. And that is why regular surveillance is critical. I have coworkers who have many of the risk factors (family history, obesity, poor diet, alcohol +/-). But they don’t trust colonoscopies and one guy is so homophobic he thinks having a colonoscopy will make him a homosexual. And these are otherwise reasonable people.

One of the major struggles of modern medicine is to do more outreach to combat science denialism.

A colonoscopy does have potential to make you a homosexual if you happen to enjoy it.
Have you considered un-friending him?

I think it’s more to do with them being Black and not trusting the medical community. It’s the wrong position based on a legitimate historical reality. Unlike the opposition to Fauci for example which is the wrong position without a legitimate basis. Both are equally wrong and detrimental however.

Yeah why would anyone oppose Fauci, he has never been wrong about anything.

Fauci dishonestly sought to discredit the Wuhan lab-leak theory. He knew the Wuhan lab was researching coronaviruses yet dismissed the lab leak theory as nothing more than a conspiracy.

Back on topic....

Some clips from Streaky's memorial service. It's a hard watch (not least because of the poor quality stream. But the bits that work are genuinely heartbreaking).

I hear the SRC paid for the funeral arrangements
