Raza at 3. Not too worse on current form than Vusi at 2. And the kid deserves to be treated better. It is not as if he was filling in for a match and we have consistent performers throughout the lineup.foreignfield wrote:The argument for dropping Vusi or Tino with Hami opening looks a good one only as long as one does not adress the question of who should bat at three. Imo none of the middle order candidates have the necessary technique to be successful against the new ball, not even Williams, let alone 'no footwork'-Taylor or Raza who has a terrible record in domestic cricket when he bats in the top three.

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe Pakistan 2nd test
yes, that is the issue...I simply chose Raza because I am sure none of the others will be opted for (under the bat-your-best-in-their-best-position rule)... Raza is clearly expendable but likely to have more success than maruma or chaks at the topforeignfield wrote:The argument for dropping Vusi or Tino with Hami opening looks a good one only as long as one does not adress the question of who should bat at three. tbh, the real issues here are dropping Shingi and Raza ... we'll stick with the top 4 for a while yet I have little doubt, but Mutumbami and Vitori? not sure!!?
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe Pakistan 2nd test
I think if you drop Mutumbami, you also have to push Taylor down to at least 5 and then have Williams at 4.

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe Pakistan 2nd test
I reckon keep the top four as is. Masakadza at three and Taylor at four is a combination that should not be touched, and unless there's a bonafide opener smashing the door down domestically I wouldn't alter the opening pair just to accommodate some middle order changes.
No denying though, Sibanda needs runs. He's probably another couple of Test matches away from coming under the spotlight though, which could be up to 12 months or so.

Also Cremer and Shingi should be in the tail at 8 and 9.
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe Pakistan 2nd test
Wonder If cremer got paid his dues?? if so he should be in the side for the snitch ( as some forumers call him)
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe Pakistan 2nd test
