Good to see maybe he and Mongongo have settled their differences .....

Getting the younger guys or fringe players training with the national squad is another good thing Mongongo is doing, apart from 'embarrassing' the players in public he is doing some good things ....

I hope Craig Ervine decides to return he may not be as good as some people here claim him to be but he averages 30 + in both ODI's and Tests which only BRMT to also claim too ....

My cynical self can't help thinking that he was out of attractive options for the winter and decided he needed to up his market value by another short international stint.

My Zimbo-fan self can't help thinking: We need all hands on deck. Welcome back, Craig!

I feel exactly the same way. Makes him look more attractive to various english cricket leagues if you are still a current international player playing in the world cup.
Middle order batsman Craig Ervine who quit Zimbabwe after financial disputes last year has joined the Zimbabwe national squad in preparing for a tour to Bangladesh this month.

Ervine last appearance for Zimbabwe was in last year tour to the Caribbean, the left handed batsman averages 35 in ODIs after 25 matches and 29 in Tests after 4 matches.

“I am glad to be back, I have been away for a long time. I played in Ireland and Australia, and it was tough making lots of travelling,” Ervine said.

“I want to play for my nation again. It gives me an opportunity to play all three formats of the game and international cricket is more competitive. I had left because at that time, I couldn’t make a living playing locally and I think things are better off now.”

He arrives at a point were the national squad is in hard preparation against spin, ahead of the tour to the subcontinent where spin will be lethal. It is not clear whether he will be selected, but coach Steve Mangongo might be tempted especially with the disappointing show from the Zimbabwe A squad which was given the opportunity to express themselves in their tour to face Bangladesh A.

Also seen at camp was Greg Lamb despite having announced retirement from the game.

Zimbabwe will travel to Bangladesh this month, to play a 3 Test series and a 5 ODi series, two practice matches have also been organised

Perhaps not excited... But it can hardly be seen as bad news, can it?

Ervine was pretty solid in the middle order for us. Much better than Chakabva who is pretty much useless on the international scene.

He was pretty consistent averaging 35 in ODI's which would be the highest in the team atm ....
