Re: State of SA
If you want batter names, then Raynard van Tonder should be there. He's as good as Aiden Markhram and has as much potential as any young batter in South Africa. Bryce Parson is another young lad who will go a long way of he keeps developing the way he is.

Re: State of SA
I'm delighted Wisan Mulder is in the side but what the fuck has happened to his pace. When he played his fiest ODI in 2018 he was bowling 140. It looks like he's almost been told to be a dependable seamer. His batting is better than his bowling anyway.
If you want a real all rounder prospect, Gerald Coetzee is your man. Fast, tall, strong and bats like a bull. Big strong afrikaaner kid.

Marco Jansen is the next fast bowling superstar. He's going to only get quicker and stronger. In this game alone he's already touched 90mph.

Re: State of SA
Will south africa ever be in the top 3? Absolutely.
Unless you've seen their domestic crixket live, you can't appreciate the astranomic amount of talent they have in their system. They simply have too many young, talented, strong, young players to be sat at the lower end of the table for too long. The closing of the Kolpak saga will only strengthen this.
Rilee Rousouw needs to be reintegrated back into the set up. A world class player literally hanging around FC cricket

Rilee was Graeme Smiths natural successor, it’s a pity CSA couldn’t offer him a contract to rival a Kopak, which is ridiculous.sloandog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:14 pmWill south africa ever be in the top 3? Absolutely.

They are probably still salty at him refusing to sign the dotted line. But given the pathetic shape SA batting is in, I would immediately put him in the team and move Makram down the order
Re: State of SA
But mate, Hamza is colored and we can't shy away from the fact that transformation is a reality. Amongst the colored ones I mean, Hamza had got better numbers than Keegan, Temba, and other colored players out there, what's the harm in giving him another go? Honestly Hashim had a very ordinary start to his career in 2004, I never thought he will make it big, but when he came back into the side he never looked back and what a legendary career he ended up having.sloandog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:07 pmHamza isn't good enough for test cricket, it's really that simple.
Verreyne and Jannaman Malan are LOI players for the time being if I'm honest. They have oodles of talent and the shots to match it, so leave them in the ODI side to develop some confidence. They'll get their chance in the test XI, they're too good not to.
Tinah may be right, they want to groom Kyle and Janneman be groomed before exposing them against the top sides. Fair enough but this has to be done very quickly.
Re: State of SA
Rabada is bowling a nasty length, and with fire.
Jansen is going to be the SA Starc. Looks really good.

I think I said this a couple of years ago, before Malan scored that ODI century against the Aussies. He's going to be better than Gibbs.

Re: State of SA
Most of what I've said of SA cricket since 2017 has come to fruition regarding players. Verreyne, Malan, Sipamla, Jansen etc. Listen to me when I say Van Tonder is the real deal gents, and Matty Breezke is the next ODI batting sensation
Re: State of SA
They certainly have a never ending production line of talent, but it's their politics that are hamstringing them. They're absolutely determined to restrict the number of players with Afrikaans names and that's what is going to keep them behind the 8 ball. The reality is that Rabada is a shoe-in, Ngidi's days are numbered with Jansen there, although this is the best he's bowled in a while and he's shed some weight and not just going through the motions. He surely knows he has to pull finger. They're blessed with about 6 world class seam options.sloandog wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:14 pmWill south africa ever be in the top 3? Absolutely.

Bavuma is also a good player, but there are guys with more ability than him that he's potentially holding up. He keeps just doing enough to retain his spot.
Same goes for Markram, although he oozes captain material, he looks a real leader.
There were two imported guys that turned our fortunes around- Goodwin and Johnson. I'm willing to bet there's one of these Boers who had grandparents from Chivhu.

One Boer, one Bat.
