I haven't seen any of Moor's innings, but 27 off 109 suggests he's absolutely got the temperament we need in a Test player. Mawoyo-esque.

Raza easily looks the best Zimbabwean batsmen...What do you guys think?
Hamilton Masakadza also looked Zimbabwe's best. And before that in the first Test, Brendan Taylor. Chillax mate. :P

Zimbabwe's perennial problem. How often do multiple players fire all at the same time? When it happens, we usually win.

Yeah, in that context, Ervine has let us down massively. The guy who was head and shoulders above others for the last couple of years comes undone when we need him to just continue that as others found form.

We never click as a unit. SL ODI series victory happened because Masakadza and Mire did well throughout, Raza and Waller always came to the rescue, and Musakanda, Ervine and Williams chipped in when needed. Very rare for Zimbabwe.

Brilliant fight back so far from these two. Talk about dropping anchor.

One hell of a show of mental strength from Moor in this test match. Looks like he's worked hard on the ability to stay in and dig deep.

His FC record is actually pretty good, it's the List A and ODI stats which make you shiver slightly

Notes for the SA test:

1. Ervine struggles outside off early on especially if there is any movement. Needs to drop down the order.
2. Therefore Hammy must bat at 3. BT 4. Craig 5. Raza 6. PJ in for anyone injured/out of form or based on this match takes the place of Craig.
3. I am on the fence about Williams but I don't feel he is good enough and only makes the side as a bowling allrounder batting at 8 in an 8-3 side from now on
4. Tino needs to open with another youngster who can grind it out. We need to blood some youngsters (BUT hammy will probably open with a youngster)
5. We need a new keeper. Id be tempted for PJ to keep against SA as there wont be much spin bowled. But for the future who knows.
6. Jarvis and Chatara need to be the quicks. This obsession with Mpofu needs to stop.
7. The 3rd seamer needs to be a youngster. Muzarabani seems to be ahead of the rest so id be tempted to give him a go as he is the future.
8. Williams will need to make the side as a bowling all rounder from now onwards. His contributes runs once in a blue moon in tests.
9. Waller is done in tests

Therefore id like to see:

1: Mawoyo
2: Kasuza/Burl/any other youngster
3: Hammy
4: BT
5: Ervine
6: Raza
7: Moor
8: Cremer
9: Jarvis
10: Chatara
11: Muzarabani

7-4 with an allrounder and 2 youngsters.

But it will probably be:

1: Hammy
2: Youngster/Mire
3: Ervine
4: BT
5: Williams
6: Raza
7: Moor
8: Mavayo
9: Cremer
10: Jarvis
11: Mpofu

8-3 with same old mpofu, Williams, new wonder keeper, tried and failed Mire up top and Hammy opening

So, we survive to the fifth day, 18 runs ahead and 6 wickets remaining. The best we can hope for is a draw, but it will require some obdurate batting to take us beyond lunch and safety.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).

Raza is batting well, it doesn’t make him our best batsman though, c’mon guys. It depends where you bat and what is happening with the new ball.
