Two questions for everyone:

1. Where does Taylor rank among the top Zim batsmen of all time?
2. Where does Masakadza rank among the top Zim batsmen of all time?

For me personally,

1. Taylor would be top 5
2. Hammy is not even top 10

Ah, good question. I think Taylor's stats alone dictate that he's the best ODI batter we've ever had. Andy Flower is obviously our greatest ever cricketer, but Taylors stats are superior and he's done it against most of the nations. He scored that mammoth 145 against SA, hundreds against Sri Lanka, NZ, Pakistan etc. Neil Johnson is an obvious candidate, but he was only around for two years.

For ODI's:
1. Brendan Taylor
2. Grant Flower
3. Andy Flower
4. Neil Johnson
5. Sean Williams (better stats than Campbell who is close behind)

Cant leave Houghton out. Most talented batsman we've had, perhaps one of the most talented batsmen of his era on the planet.

Taylor's great but is he consistent enough?
He seems to suffer from the same inconsistency as everyone else, except when he's on he gets hundreds, not fifties, which does count for a lot.

I think he's all much of a muchness in ODIs with Houghton, flower, and Johnson

Taylor's great but is he consistent enough?
Excellent point. Taylor IMO isn't dependable enough. Like in a must win situation if the score is 20-2 in the 6th over, you need a guy who you know thrives in and relished the situation. Taylor is more likely to throw his wicket away reverse sweeping than he is to score a defiant or even match-winnng century.

Williams has far too often scored only when the game is already lost.

Almost all of our games are already lost. Saying Williams only scores when the game is often lost just tends to mean Williams often scores runs without much help.

Williams has actually scored some meaningful runs in winning causes in the past 3-4 years. Regardless of the teams win loss percentange.
