How many active cricket players do we have in Zimbabwe? I’m assuming each club has maybe 20 guys so that’s about 300 players. Then there are the clubs which aren’t playing in the NPL. So is 500 a fair estimate?
Add the kids too, and the beer league in Harare.
it is very low numbers

There are many more clubs not in the NPL to be fair. Half of Vigne Cup 1, all of Vigne Cup 2. All of Bulawayo 2. 90% of clubs in all other regions (Where there aren't necessarily loads, in fairness).
The Mbizo side seems to be packed with Pakistani players and Nigerians. Very odd to give these guys a run whilst leaving out local lads.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes
3 I think all playing for Mbizo. I think they must have realised how poor they were this time so have brought in a few to help them be competitive. Okpe is a half decent bowler and Udekwe has pace (but no brains)
Would have been better if they got that other young Nigerian who can hit a long ball, would have been interested to see how he would get on.
