Just imagine the following team
1. Tino Mawoyo
2. Vusi Sibanda
3. Sean Williams
4. Brendan Taylor
5. Craig Ervine
6. Tatenda Taibu
7. Malcolm Waller
8. Graeme Cremer
9. Keegan Meth
10. Kyle Jarvis
11. Brian Vitori
A talented batsman but a modest, hardworking character, Stuart Matsikenyeri is the third of three school friends from Churchill Boys High School, Harare to represent Zimbabwe in international cricket. - Cricinfo.

They are probably in the same boat at the moment, talented but under-performing.

Yeah, very well played Zimbabwe. That was anyone's game with an hour to play, the cards didn't fall the right way today but there is a lot to be proud about from this Test match.bayhaus wrote:Wells done Zim.

Wow. What an effort. I was working and missed it all.
The thing that stands out for me is how we played for the win. The players are trying to do the right thing. NZ did need those runs after tea on Day 4.
It is nice to be competitive. Also there are starting to be no passengers in the Top 6. Hami's form aside even he made some contribution and we know his class. We are always going to have some players hotter than others in the moment.
Speaking of hot. How about the captain? I mean 3 hundreds, 3 fifties in 7 innings. Mawoyo seems to be taking to tests. I hope he continues to surprise.
I start to think we are getting closer to a settled team. Allrounder - either bowling, batting or keeping is still unresolved. I'd be inclined to swing between Chigs and Mutizwa depending on the pitch.
And one bowling slot is still wide open. Jarvis, Price and Mpofu look a good base, we need to add the 4th or 5th contributor to the mix.

Those kiwis must have started to crap themselves. we still had 4 wickets in hand with 45 to get, but we are still pretty much 6 out all out. Pity Waller couldn't maunfacture two miracles in a week.

Our tactical error was Taylor's ton. Bear with me here...
Whenever a Taylor scored a ton on this series, it was in a losing cause. So clearly, what we needed to do was allow Ross to get to his century in one of his innings, and then for Brendan to throw his wicket on 99 yesterday. The Gods of Fate would've ensured our victory from there..!
