When was that?
The only time Zim have genuinely fielded a compettive side was 1999 and even then, depth dropped off a cliff
I didnt say they were any good. There werent enough players going around. Just a few average players to pick from.

Got a feeling they want to have a stable top order and will go for something like

Gumbie
Craig
Myers
Williams
Bennett
Raza
Burl

That probably leaves 2 other batting options in a squad of 15. 1 of either Wes, Maru and Clive might miss out. Maybe they will name an extended squad to fit them in. I don't see Johno or K-Long making it if those 3 kids aren't in the plans to initially play.

So if there is a bias the hope will then be one of the kids who isn't Dion or Bennett scores big in the next game.
You're ducking out of predicting who's keeping, whether Faraz is playing etc

Put your starting 11.
We'll do it again after next game.
Then we'll see who knows the great minds of our selectors come match day.

Someone made a good point- these games should probably have been held at Queens on a turning track where Mavuta would probably be in the mix, because here he currently isn't. I'm not sure our specialist spinners (Bones and Brandon) make enough difference to justify selection ahead of our part timers that offer a lot with the bat. We're always at least 9 down so everyone is going to bat.

The one good thing is that ZC, for whatever reason, are feeling some pressure to justify selections, even though it's by moving the goal posts to suit.

I have to say I was very surprised Wellie has been omitted. I rate him, he's a very good player. He cops some flack for being a Masakadza, and he has had a free ride a number of times, but he's absolutely always thereabouts. There's definitely real competition now and he's going to have to work on his batting, whilst maintaining his bowling. He's a decent bat, but he has to get better.

Surely Wellie has a niggle?

Didn't play the Mountaineers Logan Cup game.

Ndlovu ahead of him in these squads?

No I'm sure he's fit, although he didn't play in the last 4 day game? Maybe he was omitted by Mangongo?

They should realistically be giving Mavuta more opportunity, and they're potentially going to do that, he's a wicket taker and a pretty decent leggie.
They could easily have said to him that if he sat out the 50 over stuff he'd be penned in for the T20's and Tests. It would lend credibility to the ruse that they're being impartial in selections. Don't be fooled.

That’s crazy batting from India, 283 would be a somewhat respectable ODI score.

That one SA bowler was in the side that played our emerging side. He wasn't close to that Tristan Luus.
