A good effort from Zimbabwe. I was expecting a heavy innings defeat.

it has been good, at least 7.5 out of ten, I wonder how we will shape up in the ODIs. After the examination from SA we probably have our best chance of a surprise over Australia in quite a while.

Chatara :W:
So we avoid the 10 wicket loss :)

We've been undone by one bad session, but that's what the really good teams can do to you. Overall, I think Zimbabwe can hold their heads high after this performance.

Oddly enough for a weaker team I believe tests to be our strongest format. We seem to struggle in ODIs and really struggle in T20.

I decided to look back at the last test we played at HSC against South Africa http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Score ... 72955.html. If you look at the scorecard it was pretty much a similar effort, the only difference being Andy Flower who scored 142 and 199*. In that test SA scored 600/3 in their first innings!

Certainly one of our best bowling efforts against SA.

Pleased to get the loss down to 9 wickets. Sibanda's wicket in the 2nd innings really hurt along with the umpiring errors in the first. Losing Williams and Richmond like we did probably cost us the 300 in the first dig that would have given us the shot at Day 5.

Thank you Tendai Larry Chatara for helping us with avoiding the 10 wicket defeat too! And thank heavens he is not injured badly by the blow while batting.

We did not make it to day 5, but boy did we compete. I'm sure it is a satisfying feeling for a lot of us having followed this match with a lot of interest.

I think we have improved our reputation. We will need to take the positives into BD. That is going to be a big challenge. Need to be shooting for at least one victory and hopefully avoid a series loss.

Does anyone know how you prepare a slow pitch? Good effort, it definitely contributed to a decent showing by Zim. I was disappointed they didn't have the bowling speeds on the television. Does anyone know why there were no reviews? Whose decision was this? Zim are always on the reciving end of questionable umpiring decisions against big teams, it is really annoying. The fielders really need to show more exuberance going up and get in the umpires' faces a bit more.
