Good show BT!!! Well deserved ton. I guess in hindsight Maruma and Hammy ddnt do too bad in chewing up deliveries, besides not scoring much, run rate not a major concern for us

Serious let-off! That would have really swung things

Chigs doesn't look like he knows what to do in this circumstance. Hopefully he can tough it out and put on a decent show tomorrow.

Hey guys, which of you is Anti-ZCF Outkast? Someone is giving Hhm some stick over at Cricinfo.

Probably a level day overall, maybe Zim slightly happier having lost the toss.
Was looking thoroughly depressing at 60odd for 3, but a great effort from the skip. (SACK HIM NOW!!)

Failures from the openers, how they came up with the idea of sticking Maruma in there is beyond me.
Hami essentially played Mawoyo's role soaking up 16 or 17 overs for his 25. He should just have opened and given us Williams in the middle.
Taylor, shows us just how crucial he is to us.
Waller did well enough although Ashraful dropped a sitter which helped him to his 55. Still good for him to make another score at test level.
Elton had a big letoff and needs to look a fair bit better tomorrow.
4/217 probably gives us the day, especially with the extra mental element of having been sent in. With the tail we have had recently, You would probably say BD were ahead, but with Mutumbami at 7, Cremer, Meth, Shingi and Jarvis @11 there is some hope of getting a good way beyond 300.
Taylor's knock should also help the team get its head right after all the terrible lead up. The first day 100 becomes the news and the recent dramas can be put behind. Pressure will build significantly on BD having been favourites, coming off good form and having won the toss if we can get through the morning session with 4 wickets still intact.

That would be me. Seemed like a funny idea. Not that there is a shortage of people who think he is crazy over at cricinfo.

Re: Match Thread - Zimbawe v Bangladesh 1st Test
What a great day of Test cricket. This is what it's all about - I reckon honours are shared. At 4 down, Bangladesh know that 2 quick wickets and Zimbabwe will be in all sorts of trouble. Whereas Zimbabwe will be thinking that there is still enough batting left that despite a pretty low score they can still pile on more runs. We are still a long way short of a good first innings score.
What a great innings by Taylor under the circumstances. For Zimbabwe to put together a winning score, he's going to need to push on and make this a really big hundred. Waller supported Taylor really well. We need at least one more big partnership like they put on. Maybe Chigumbura will cash in on his second chance? A chance for Cremer to turn his starts into a Test fifty? A dream debut for Mutumbami? Tomorrow is going to be very exciting!
