India call off Zimbabwe tour due to broadcast issue
Team India's forthcoming tour of Zimbabwe next month has been called off on Monday due to the unresolved issues between the BCCI and broadcaster Ten Sports.
According to the reports, the decision was taken citing the fatigue factors of the players along with the tussle in the broadcast rights.
India were scheduled to play three ODIs and two T20 Internationals in Zimbabwe from July 10.
There were always a cloud of uncertainty over the tour due to the broadcast issue, which prompted Zimbabwe Cricket to issue a a press release on Sunday that it may be postponed for next year. The release further add that it was hopeful of going ahead with India's tour and it was in constant contact with both the BCCI and Ten Sports to resolve the issues before the series.
"There have been reports that an issue over Zimbabwe Cricket's broadcasting partner is threatening the forthcoming India tour to Zimbabwe. The position is that ZC is in constant contact with both the BCCI and Ten Sports, over issues which should be resolved before the tour," the ZC release said.
"If the matters take too long to resolve, ZC and the BCCI might mutually agree to push the tour to next year," ZC chairman Wilson Manase said in the release.

Bunch of cowards, they could even send their reserved squad if their players are so 'tired'. Hypocrites too, making a fuss out of WI backing out in the last few ODIs, but when India back out of a whole tour, its all fine and dandy.

That would actually be perfect Spitfires. We should be able to beat a second string Indian team at home and bag some much needed ranking points !

Any tour is better than no tour ......
It will still be a strong side, best chance is prepare some green tops and hopefully their batsman struggle more than ours ....

Some of their second string players I have no doubt are better than their current players. They just don't get a look-in from Indian selectors because they have not befriended enough senior officials.
Re: India call off Zimbabwe tour due to broadcast issue
Hopefully experience and home factor will be the telling blow. They will be hungry and eager to gain a regular spot in the Indian team though.
Re: India call off Zimbabwe tour due to broadcast issue
Well looks like the tour is going ahead so let's look at some team lineups?
From the players in the training squad
Hami
Chamu
Raza
Chigs
Willy
Ervine
Jongwe
Mutumbami
Vitori
Panyangara
Mpofu
Jongwe is the smokey in my team I just think we should prepare similar pitches to what we produced last time India toured but this time win the toss and take advantage of the early morning due ......
This side is missing strike power with bat and ball, having BRMT, Chatara & KJ would make a massive difference ......
