Why does Zimbabwe bother with Prosper?
He was ok in the darkest years between 2006-2007, but he's impotent, has a terrible average, has one of the superstars of our time (Price) and a rising white light (Cremer) who is the form player in Zimbabwe to contend with.
Then there is Greg Lamb who is at least his equal in terms of ability.

After the batting fiasco of Lamb in T20, i would like to give chance to experienced Matsikenyari and Cremer for Mpofu.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:Hamilton Masakadza

"Rising White Light?" Please Mr Doggy, give us a break with your "impotent" racist posturing. What does skin colour have to do with Greame Cremer's undoubted ability?

Wow Doc thats a bit harsh about Greg Lamb as he helped steady the ship in difficult conditions and he looked a more than usefull 6th bowling option. Much rather have him at number six than Matsikenyeri and Coventry.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:After the batting fiasco of Lamb in T20, i would like to give chance to experienced Matsikenyari and Cremer for Mpofu.Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) wrote:Hamilton Masakadza

I think this series is cruial for Matsikenyeri and Sibanda as they need to perform consistantly and im still not convinced that Sibanda is an opening batsman. He plays the whole domestic season batting at four, scores heaps of runs and what do we do when he gets back in the national side, put him up to open.

I agree whole heartedly with Dr Situ. Lamb may be a useful bowling option but how many of them do we need when we already have Cremer, Price and Utseya. In that 39 ball innings Lamb never looked remotely like a one day player let alone a T20international.zimfan1 wrote:Wow Doc thats a bit harsh about Greg Lamb as he helped steady the ship in difficult conditions and he looked a more than usefull 6th bowling option. At this rate even Charles Coventry, who I have criticised voraciously in the past would be a better option.
And, yes, now Ithink by leaving out Forster Mtizwa the selectors missed a trick, which means they will realise it later, try and rectify it by bringing him and Sean Williams for the T20 world Cup where they (the latter certainly) will fail again and then we are we? Back to square one.
This I think is the same way that Vusi has been unwittingly set up to fail by playing him in T20 when he doesn't really look like a one day player either.
Use players to their strengths, even if it means they have to wait for the test matches. We do have the Intercontinental Cup after all...
