Is graeme Cremr the best leggis in the world today?

I am actually being serious.

Is he the best in the world at his craft right now?

I am not counting Warne or Kumble in the IPL, they are probably still better. But out of the current internationals.......

Who would be better. Who would he be up against?

Danish Kaneira is the only candidate that comes to mind. I actually think Cremer is in better form.

Cremer is killing the logan cup, raped the west indies...and for the last year or so Cremer has been gangstalicious.

He has it all..googly, etc.

What prompted this was a colleague who is a huge cricket fan with no official link or interest in zimbabwe saying that Cremer would play for australia if he was an aussie. This comment really perked my interest.

When i think about leg spin today.

west indies- no one
england- no one.
SA-No one (at least in the national team)
bangladesh- who cares
AUS- steven smith, cameron white and bryce mcgain....Cremers better in my book than the first 2, as for Bryce, i actually think he is better than Cremer BUT he is 38 years old, failed in his test debut last year and it is clearly obvious australia will not pick him ever again, thus he is not an international player and cant be compared.
india- no one i can think of.......maybe Chawla?
NZ- no one (although vettori being a left arm offie is like leg spin in essence).
Sri lanka- no one

Pakistan- Shaid afridi and Kaneria..............these 2 are the only candidates in my opinion. Afridi is more a batsman though.

England have Adil Rashid. A player if allowed to play regularly for his county Yorkshire, instead of traipsing around with the England one-day squad playing the odd game (and usually bowling 5 overs ofr less) has the potential to become a top notch leggie.

In answer to your question ZIMDOGGY, i say yes. He has all the required tools to become a world beater, and with the correct coaching he could be one of the best for a while

I think if they give him more time with Terry Jenner when he is off season . he rubbed some magic off him when he visited in ZImbabwe some time in December .

...and just in case anyone thinks ZIMDOGGY's on one of his wind-up missions, here's confirmation from Terry's website:

Although "deathbed" may be a bit of an exaggeration, by the sounds of it.

Nice question. If we are talking about test match quality leg spin bowling, as you said, Kumble and Warne still look by far the best. But if you consider those who are playing at the highest level, for me, real competition is only between Kaneria and Cremer, (classifying Mendis as "mystery spinner", and hence he is not in contention :)) and I would like to go for Kaneria at this point purely based on experience, but another solid season must have Cremer right up there.

I reckon Cremer's better than Kaneria. Kaneria is very inconsistant with both his line and length, while Graeme attacks the stumps on a regular basis. I even think he spins the ball more, both ways. So like i said, i reckon he's the best ODI leg spinner in the world at the moment.

i dont rate Kaneira.
his average is only 35 in tests which is ho-hum at best.

He has also played ALOT of spin friendly wickets in his time that he should have nailed.

When he was in oz and pace friendly pitches he was hopeless and got smashed.

I would say even Afridi has the edge on him.
