Test Status for Ireland, has certainly made them another nation for top level cricket as they will be representing all the formats as a full member nation, thus it will create more opportunity for cricketers around the world.

County Cricket in UK was a major ground for upcomming cricketers getting better infrastructure and dream of playing international cricket. Now its going to shift to Ireland, english players doing well in county, not getting picked because of wider talent base will certainly consider representing Ireland in international games.

Players from South Africa, Zimbabwe has already started to shift to Ireland, even few of them from Asian Subcontinent, Australia and New Zealand are playing domestic cricket in Ireland and might find themselves representing Irish team in future

Irish international cricketers from other nations :

John Anderson - South African
Ed Joyce - England
Stuart Poynter - England
Tim Murtagh -England
Simi Singh - India
Jacob Mulder - Australia
Max Sorensen - South Africa
Nathan Smith - Australia

Domestic Cricketers from other nations :

Sean Paul Terry - England
Bobby Gamble - England
Imran Butt - Pakistan
Irosh Samarasooriya - Sri Lanka
Steve Vijay Lazars - India
Jamie Paul Holmes - New Zealand
Stephen Bunting - England
Shane Getkate - South Africa
Nicolaas Pretorius - South Africa
Stephanus Grobler - South Africa
Gary King - Zimbabwe
Adam Keefe - Zimbabwe
Muhammad Sadique - Pakistan
Yaqoob Ali - Pakistan

Adam Keefe & Gary King, two of them were talented names at the age group cricket lost to Ireland.

Joyce, Poynter and Murtagh are all genuinely Irish. Where do you get your stats from?

Ireland from now on will be playing quality teams, so more players from UK, South Africa are expected to be part of Irish domestic cricket for some time to be a part of international cricket.

As talents from Zimbabwe, Edward Byrom will be a great addition, 20 yrs youth opening batsman will find tough to get picked for England. As England still banks on Alistar Cook. Mark Stoneman is latest star, followed by Keaton Jennings and Haseeb Hameed waiting in the mix after good start at the international arena.

Malcolm Lake & Nick Welch can also make into the Irish Side

Lol both those names are 100% English and I’m unsure about Lake but I know that of this second, Welch ONLY has Zimbabwean citizenship. The young whites are now a few generations removed from the European born grandparents.

To be Irish you need to have an Irishman grandparent or a great grandparent with a parent who registered themselves with the Irish consulate prior to the birth of a son.
I know this because I only recently looked into it for myself (and I actually have an Irish surname).

Craig Ervine & Nathan Waller tried to play in Ireland as both had Irish passport. Sean Ervine was also in the mix to play for Ireland. It was Hamish Marshall, from New Zealand, who was very much close but failed to represent Ireland.

They weren’t lost to Ireland, they would have willingly hung around here or returned here after Uni had Zim had better options. Virtually no young people with choices stay here.
