[Match Thread] Zimbabwe v Sri Lanka (Tri Series 3rd Match)

Post by Conant »

I have tried posting the match thread and used the preview from Cricinfo but it looked untidy, so I've given up. Will someone post the match thread so I can delete this one. Anyone. Maehera? Crimson? Sloandoag?

Zimbabwe v Sri Lanka (Tri-Series 3rd Match)
Queen's Sports Club, Bulawayo, 1 June 2010

Wunderground Weather sticker

Zim are currently sitting pretty at the top of the tournament table, and if India could whup SL then I'd like to think we can too. Soon find out. A Sri Lanka win would leave all three sides on equal points, with Net Run Rate deciding table positions.

Nothing wrong with adopting this as the match thread, I reckon!

Has to be the same team for me as never change a winning side, but if Taibu was to come back i would like to see him come in for Cremer as i still think number 8 is to high for him and Lamb did a job at three in the last match.

Yes i know he didnt score quickly but no one can deny that he help stop the typical Zimbabwe collapse by just hanging in there and supporting the guy in Taylor who was seeing it like a beach ball.

Think Bliggy may be required to bowl a few more overs tommorow so we can see over a longer period if he still he the pace to trouble batsman.

Lets just hope we win the toss and chase again as the last two matches have been one by the chasing side.

Ya i agree we shouldn't change a winning formula.
If anything I'd like to see Craig Ervine at 3 and Greg Lamb at 4. I know it's harsh and perhaps a little bit random, but i just think we need to use Craig as best we can, and through putting him at 3 he'll provide just as much stability as Lamb

You're dead right zimfan, and since somebody has to make way I can only think it could be one of the spinners; and yes again whatever we may not like about Lamb's strike rate, he's playing a very vital role by holding one end up. Blignaut will have to do more if he's to keep his place in what is fast becoming a very competitive environment

ithink if zim play pressure less cricket than they can win with this team,if there is pressure to win than they can't win,i playing pressure is a hard task for them, zim need to deal well with kulashekra and medis.

Nothing harsh in it. Promote Ervine to 3 and give chance to Chappy at 4 (its his home ground and he was very much at ease).

I swear you'd think that Craig Ervine was Jesus Christ himself if you read these forums without knowing any better.

his first class average is 35.
