Re: Rocks vs Rhinos
Poor start by the Rocks all thanks to Rainsford. Even Taibu starts off with a failure, but good to see him on the team sheet.
Vusi Sibanda is on the Rhinos sheet!! That's a surprise

Rains ford on fire....or is it a Rocks side imploding dramatically? Either way he's taken the wickets good on him!
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu

Interesting to note that Riki Wessels seems to have recovered from his little strop, and has returned to Zim and Rhinos colours after the Xmas break...
Re: Rocks vs Rhinos
Where are you Hhm? Rainsford picks up his 10th five-for. Rocks continue to perform poorly, only a rear guard gained any respectability.

It's only the Rocks! Anyway, he's been excellent, but that's what we've come to expect from by far the best seamer on show in the latest round of matches. I was biding my time. Rainsford's done his bit, but with Panyangara still out of the wickets, I didn't want to prematurely talk up experience, only for the other half of the youngsters’ subplot Vitori to get plenty of wickets, so let's see how Panyangara does first.Jemisi wrote:Where are you Hhm? I see Kyle found the going easy against the Rocks not too long ago, but as he has often done, he’s come short when the going gets tough (Rainsford&Panyangara have doen the job against all the best bastmen this season). As in other instances, he might just turn up in the second innings when there’s little to gain! Great to see Elton doing the job – tight and effective. In Mpofu's absence, he'll need to support Price very well. Can't see anything coming from the youngsters in that first innings, which I strongly believe is all NZ will need!
62 runs off 19 overs @ 3.2 against the Rocks! Except for the lower-order wickets, almost double everything in comparison to Rainsford. More expensive that everyone else! Appalling is all I can say! Utseya got 33 runs n.o. and as expected if he follows that up with a good bowling performance, and Matsi gets decent runs, that should make the obvious simple for the selectors - Cremer MUST BE LEFT OUT!

Re: Rocks vs Rhinos
Rainsford for me has done his bit to deserve a look in at the very least, but at whose expense? Vitori, Mpofu, Jarvis have proved themselves, Meth and Shingi have also done their fair bit at FC, Chatara continues to impress, Querl has been a revelation...exciting times, Panyangara whilst not being terrible, will have to climb a mountain to go past this list!
Ballance...perplexing...and its not just here he is doing it, even at county....just a question how does it work, won't this kid "burn out" I mean he'll be off to England soon after our season come to a close, so when does he rest?? Anyway he above all others that got away is the biggest (and true genuine) loss to our system, imagine him opening with Mawoyo, and moving Vusi to his natural number 3, Taylor at 4, Hami at 5, Waller at 6, and Taibu at natural position 7! Not to mention Mutizwa and Craig in the wings!
Zim cricket is indeed alive!
PS Vitori continues to be a one man cause...what of scrapping Rocks in favour of an Academy side, with the likes of 1. R Kai (20)
2. I Kai (19), 3. Kasuza (18), 4. Bently (18), 5. Waller (20), 6. Moor (20), 7. Sarumba (wkt) (19), 8. Chatara (20), 9. Muzhange (20), 10. Mushangwe (20), 11. Price (20)....maybe add Ncube (21) Vitori (21) Jarvis(22) to this lot...
Keep them together for say 3 or 4 years as an elite team in FC to gradually replenish the national team as time goes???
