Will they be playing 4 matches in 4 days? I feel it will be a difficult schedule.

Also, there is room for a few of the players in the preliminary squad to make it to the Zimbabwe XI that goes to India, and a few others who are not part of this list to make it to Namibia, based on Faithwear performances. It could be possible that ZC would be announcing both the squads together, after Faithwear draws to close. So, let us keep an eye on that.

Zim A squad to Namibia
Regis Chakabva (captain), Eric Chauluka, Cephas Zhuwawo, Mark Vermeulen, Charles Coventry, Mbekezeli Mabuza, Timycen Maruma, Tafadzwa Kamungozi, Shingi Masakadza, Trevor Garwe, Tendai Chisoro, Bothwell Chapungu, Admire Manyumwa, Natsai Mushangwe.

cant understand how chibbha isnt in either squad, nice to see vermeulen and coventry there though this is them chance to prove themselves and press for the national side

i agree with the selectors that they shouldn't just be able to walk straight back in the national side they need to earn it

I agree that it's fair enough that Vermeulen & Coventry are on this trip. They should look to dominate the scoring, as they are probably the two most acomplished players in the squad, and really throw their names into the ring for the full side.

I feel that Justice Chibhabha should have been selected for the 'A' side.He is really going well in the Faithwear cup with an aggressive century under his belt.

Ya,Vermeulen and Coventry should make some big scores in the overseas pitch. It will definitely help them when they will return to the national side.

Zimbabwe 'A' should clean sweep Namibia by 4-0.

Who is Natsai Mushangwe? As has been said a few times now, there are many people that are more distinguished (Chibhabha, Nyamuzinga, Mujuru, Takarusenga, ...) that have missed out altogether. Overall though, a pretty decent lineup with enough international faces to clean sweep Namibia hopefully.

1. C Zhuwawo
2. M Vermeulen
3. R Chakabva (c/wk)
4. E Chauluka
5. C Coventry
6. M Mabuza
7. T Maruma
8. A Manyumwa
9. S Masakadza
10. T Garwe
11. T Kamungozi

Namibia are a good side. They are the equals of Kenya these days, I'm sure they will win at least one...

Our bowling is probably the weak link, we don't really have an out-and-out strike bowler (which even Mpofu would be), so we will just have to rely on the experience of Garwe and the potential of S Masakadza. No doubt most of the pressure will be applied by the spinners (mainly Maruma I reckon), but we don't want to have to rely on them to take the bulk of the wickets.

I think the batting is strong enough to handle between 220-250 comfortably on a good pitch, it might be touch-and-go beyond that.

If all of the players play as well as we know they can, I think we should be able to win 3-0 in the one-dayers. Twenty20's are always harder to pick, but Coventry and Mabuza provide us with enough aggression to get a good score.

Non inclusion of Chibhabha in either of the squads is beyond belief. How can this possibly be explained?

Waller was expected to be in squad to Namibia, but he is retained in squad to India, whereas Williams is in the India bound squad, and so is Sibanda. I expect one of Williams or Sibanda not making it to India and Chibhabha coming in as a replacement.

Namibia bound squad has a couple of unknowns, but it should be a good learning experience for the team there.
