Gerald Aliseni is a former student of Falcon College in Esigodini, whose alumni include impressive names such as Heath Streak and Henry Olonga. At the age of 14, he was considered the fastest bowler of his age-group in South Africa and Zimbabwe but questions have since been raised over his commitment to professional cricket. Nevertheless, he made his domestic debut in a Twenty20 game in March 2008, and played for the Matabeleland Tuskers in the 2009-10 Logan Cup. Though rumoured to possess genuine pace, he is yet to make an impact.

Dave Houghton observed him in 2009, the first year of the franchise system, and reckoned he was touching 90Mph nearly every ball. From memory- he moved to South Africa a while ago, feels he has genuine pace but sprays it everywhere - doesn't rate himself as a first class bowler, doesn't like the zc system and doesn't rate pace by itself.Feels control and swing much more effective.

In essence the man is unsure of his own ability, let alone his own cricketing future

Just checked his FB, was curious what his physique was like, being able to bowl 90 and all. He's loving life, no danger he's going to play cricket any time soon.

Another one gets away .... Surely if he could make a decent living playing cricket he would consider it .....

I think he would have played if he was good enough. Pace isnt everything if you can't keep it on the cut strip.

Yep, and I remember he rated chatara as twice the bowler he could ever be.

I also remember he came from a very rich family someone said, I don't remember the reason but somehow that was a factor from whoever said it.

Sounds like a man with too much self doubt .... You can coach to gain consistency and accuracy but you can't teach raw pace !!! I've never seen the guy bowl but its not every day a Zimbo can bowl it @ 150 kph so I feel that it's a shame he is lost to the game

he seems like a confident sorta guy, just dont think it is for him.

good on him for being real i guess.

truth is though, even if he can bowl 145 (he has never touched 150, just has the potential too) more than likely his stock ball will only be 130.

but can he control his stock ball better than our best?

in the last season of the b franchise system, he played for one of the b teams and didnt set it on fire.
