Planning for future Pakistan and Afghanistan series

Obviously ervine and Williams are retired from 20/20 but still badly needed for 50 over and test matches still.

Do we give matt Welch a go up top in the 50 over format maybe?
Zolsky seems to be advocating for Matt Campbell which is a strange one given his paucity of games.

Munyonga needs a longer rope in the shorter format as does Musekiwa. Can't even do a baseline reading on Musekiwa given how he batted so late on in the African qualifiers.
Mavuta surely is our number one spinner now you would think barring nepotism.

Like I said not so much predicting squads more of a thread on deserving players for our upcoming multi format series. Feel free to give some input 😃

I'd like to see Jonno Campbell and Bennett have a crack at the ODIs cause they seem more suited to that format. Might be worth having a look at Curran as well. I just don't want to see Madande with gloves though

Are Craig and Sean really going to be around in 2027 for the fifty over Word Cup?

Sean will be 41 and Craig 42. Does it make sense to carry on playing them?

I still think Ervine & Williams retire after the England Test, but we shall see.

I'd still pick them both in both longer formats for now regardless.

Obviously Curran won't be in the Pakistan squads. Another good couple of weeks and he has a small outside chance of one of the Afghanistan squads perhaps.

Talk of Matt Campbell is extremely premature. Matt Welch has a List A highest score of 52, so Pakistan series very very unlikely also. His best bet is a good two rounds of Logan Cup opening and then an outside shot at the Test squad for Afghanistan.

As usual people will be disappointed and the squads will consist of the likes of Faraz, Madhevere, Wellington, Madande, Musekiwa, Gwandu etc. I don't think we'll see much change.

Curran can't be picked after one white ball half century, needs a good season and then maybe the Ireland tour. Solmon Mire is the one I am more interested in, he must have had some encouragement from the selectors to come back and have a crack.

From what David Mutendera said, Campbell is likely to get a go in ODIs. Burl left the qualifier in a sling and so he may be a doubt or even his place in debate if he is fit, at least in the ODIs.

Hope that Muvuta gets the whole Pakistan series, only ever gets the odd game here and there.

This series is also too early for Evans, he hopefully should be back in contention for the Afghanistan series. Nice to have a few more fast bowling options, Gwandu is a better option than Faraz or Mumba in my opinion.

Is the Pakistan series a senior men's series or an A team tour? Is it in Zimbabwe or Pakistan?

Ervine, Williams and ZC need to be deciding sooner rather than later whether they’ll be at the 2027 World Cup. Give time for any new guys to find their feet and get a year or two as a squad. Barring injury, old Raz Dawg will be there with his multi colour Puma sneakers, wily old fox that he is

Captain, chairman of the board and chief selector Sir Sikandar Raza Esquire’s opinion is what counts though, hey.
