I agree...I guess, he will in the IPL auction for the next season. So far, he is consistent. Just needs to take his form through and if he can put some performance in his achievement against strong side like Sri Lanka in the upcoming matches, he will have a good chance. But since all of the IPL franchises have their quota full with 10 foreign players, it will be equally difficult. I mean, if they want to include a new player, they have to cut and release any foreign player also.

Rice is a wicket taking bowler and the type of performance he has consistently shown in the recently concluded One day series against Bangladesh he should be able to walk into any International Cricket Eleven.
However in IPL it is easier for a batsman or a pace bowler to get in unless you are a spinner of the class of Murali or Mendis. Even it is difficult for an allrounder to get there. Shaqib despite being the NO 1 Allrounder in ICC ranking failed to make it to IPL. On the otherhand Mashrafe as a Pacer and Ashraful as an aggressive batsman made it to IPL though each of them played only one match. So I think it will be easier for Coventry to get in than Ray Price. But one can't rule out. Exceptions do happen otherwise how could Ashraful get into IPL despite an inconsistent performance with the bat. Let's not give up our hopes on Price.

Agree with you...Regarding Ashraful, he doesn't at all deserve a chance in the IPL. Actually he is taken for his popularity and people know about his aggressive batting, I mean if anyone who hasn't seen Shakib yet thinks that Ashraful is the whole cricket of Bangladesh. But that isn't true at all. Ashraful is very inconsistent. At the time of the auction of IPL 2, I guess the franchise owners don't know much about Shakib. So, he was very very unfortunate to miss out, the opposite thing happened to Ashraful. So, in summary for me it's Shakib who should be in the IPL not Ashraful. Shakib is still maintaining his postion as the number 1 all rounder in ICC ODI rankings.
Price is indeed a top class bowler and let's hope for the best for him in the prospect of getting a chance in the IPL.

i think coventry and chigumbura have a better chance for the ipl3
if we get more matches with stronger opponent, and they both played well
no surprise that they will be seen playing in ipl3
more so i being from india tell u that bcci has decided to include two new frenchises from 2010....
only matches against stronger opponent will be required

Can't rule out Price from the auction at any means. I guess, Price along with Coventry has got a good chace. But consistency is a huge factor. I can remember the first auction where Ashraful and Mashrafe from Bangladesh were mostly favourite to be picked by an IPL franchise for the first edition. But neither of them was taken but it was the in form consistent left arm spinner Abdul Razzaq who was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
So, I think spinners have got chances too in the short version of cricket.
