Saif Hasan is a similar to Brian Chari, scoring plenty in the domestic but failing at the international level. May be its early but so, far he haven't looked comfortable in any of the format. Shadman, nearly 2 years in test cricket, when he will deliver against strong opposition. There is still no replacement of Tamim Imrul opening due for BD in test.BD team performances have come only against Zim and Windies.
Its enough, BCB should invest in longest format now, otherwise they will join Windies that raises question of their participation in the championship
Chari still has better technique than Saif. Shadman is quite solid...looked very rusty today vs Shaheen, but Shaheen is a world class quick. Poor dismissals from Mominul (granted it was a top class delivery) and especially Shanto.
69-4 is a terrible score to be at going into lunch. Pitch seems to have some turn in it...but Chittagong is known to get flatter as the match progresses. Might be an excellent toss to lose for PAK, and with 4 down the first session, this could be a very easy game for them.

Thats what called pure form of cricket. Needs to have gritty approach to face world class. Same Shaheen struggles against top class teams in bowling friendly condition. Its the approach that needs to be blamed not the quality. Saif was beaten by pace of the short bowl, which he should have left, Shanto was playing too many needless shorts, Mominul had the experiene fall to an inexperienced spinner
Bangladesh should have gone for defensive approach in first hour and waited for the pitch to become batting friendly later in the day
Kriterion, Experience matters in test cricket. You cant simply put these one or two season performers against ones who are playing the domestic season for 4/5 years. Age is just a number as performance speaks for them. Raqibul, Naeem,Taibur should have been playing this test
Ends the day on a strong position. We need 375-400 though to think of being safe from a defeat. Backing Mominul and Shanto to come to the party in the 2nd innings.
So we get ourselves an unexpected lead of 44 runs. Handy runs I say. Still anyone's game IMO. Bangladesh will need to set a target of at least 250...but given Windies just chased 395 here a few months ago...we won't feel comfortable until we get a lot more than that.
Shanto and Mominul gone for ducks. 83 for 4 overall. Will need at least 200, and ideally 250 to have any chance. I can't really see that happening. Far more likely we set them a measley 150 target to chase and end up losing by 5-6 wickets.
If Mominul and Shanto had scored another 50 runs each (a pair of 30s in both innings)...we'd be 183-4 and in the driver's seat. Such a shame. Great chance to knock off a full strength Pakistan side minus Tamim and Shakib.
Hats off to Taijul, and especially Ebadat who bowled with pace and tightly attacked the stumps all innings long. Extremely rare to see a Bangladesh seamer bowl 20+ overs and concede less than 2 runs per over.
Pakistan have a very very easy draw for this WTC. Their away series are against WI, Ban, SLN, with due respect thats relatively easy than playing the likes of Australia or South Africa away. They've already won 2 away tests and lost 1.
Home series against AUS, ENG and NZL, they can surely win most games at home.
I think Pakistan have a great chance of making it to the WTC finals this time.
