Tanaka Chivanga Watch
I was quite fortunate to watch Tanaka Chivanga bowl today at the Mash Eagles session today.Tanaka had been called up to the ZIM A and Africa T20 squads but did not make any appearances. His action looked very clean and "quick". Looks like a big strong lad but needs to work on his game fitness i would like to see him bat. From our brief chat he indicated that he is around for a few weeks and seems to be targeting playing in the Logan Cup. He mentioned that he plays for Johannesburg Cricket Club which also plays in the premier league so he has some edge in terms of high quality cricket games. With Vittori lost we may have another new player to add to our ranks.

The Logan Cup wont start this week. ZC has not been able to pay players for their December salaries. Players have received their November Salaries and would most likely not play until they have received the December dues. The coaches are trying to get the guys to play but there are genuine concerns that players will go on strike. A players Union would need to be a clear indication of the on goings with the Finances and recieve direct assurances from the Board and not Management then have guarantees for players to get on to the pitch to play.zimfan1 wrote:What are the chances of the Logan Cup starting on Thursday?

He bowls really fast.. Really really fast!! If Heath can get him, Bidi, Aliseni and Mumba at 100% we would have a very quick attack.. The other 3 are all quicker than Mumba. It's sad we have lost Vitori for a year.. He was a true strike bowler

Any Youngster who can hit 145+ kph regularly should be picked, line & length will be cleared by Heath Streak & Makhaya Ntini

Ntini and Kluesner aren't going to bring any improvements in our players. I think we should spend money on our own resources. Price should have been our bowling coach and Blignaut our batting coach. These guys together with Heath and Taibu can bring good changes in Zim Cricket. I would also bring guys like Lamb, Ewing, Brent etc as domestic level coaches. The Robot wrote:Any Youngster who can hit 145+ kph regularly should be picked, line & length will be cleared by Heath Streak & Makhaya Ntini

Why would Blignaut be our batting coach ?

Instead of imposing Heath Streak with people why let Streak pick is batting & Bowling coaches...In fact add a fielding coach in the likes of Carslie or Guy Whithall..jaybro wrote:Why would Blignaut be our batting coach ?
