Batting first ....

Our bowling lineup looks very weak Mpofu & Tiripano won't be scaring any batsman .....

I guess the thinking is that it is going to be spinners who will pick up wickets. Chatara must be injured surely?

So, Zimbabwe win their first and most important toss of the tour ad elect to bat! Most important because had they lost they would have batted second and Herath would have run through them.

So first strike Zimbabwe then.

The bowling looks very thin but lately there isn't much to grumble about in the selections. I think the only reason Chatara was left out is because he might not be fit enough for a whle Test match. I hope Panyangara comes back soon. He's still our best bowler.

I am puzzled by Pj Moor's inclusion, with Chakabva playing. Are we going to suffer a whole 100 plus overs of of PJ Moor's woeful keeping?

And wasn't Ervine the Test player very poor for the last three years.

Anyway, there's nobody else so fingers crossed. ;)
