I picked Kasuza ahead of Tino Mawoyo because we need to start looking to the future a bit and he’s the best performing opener in Logan Cup so I’d give him a chance.

Some will say he’s being sent to the wolves but I would say to him he’s got 6 Tests to show us what he’s got and if he’s capable at this level. Knowing he won’t be dropped after one bad performance will ease the pressure.
There is no future for Kasuza via this Boxing Day Test.

Just look at Cremer's career.

Kasuza and Mashinge should not make the trip to SA.

I don't even think a full strength ZIM side can beat that Emerging side which toured ZIM. I simply don't see even that happening.

Waow :( Forum thinks just 2 or 3 tests is enough to decide the capability of a talent. Even Aussies in their time of building the team, gave time to players like Ponting, Hayden, Gilchrist to settle when they were failures at the begining of their career.

It seems here Solomon Mire & Sean Williams had enough.

1. Solomon mire
2. Hamilton mazakadza

5.peter moor (wk)
6.sikandar raza
7.sean Williams
8.chamu chibhaba
9.greame creamer
10.kyle Jarvis

Chibhaba purely cause he can bowl ..unless mire can be developed as a genuine all rounder we cant afford to have a pure batsman at chibhaba's expense .

Ok so we are less than a month away from the boxing day test which is a very important match for Zimbabwe not only because of the difficulty of the task but also because the world will be watching. A poor showing by Zimbabwe will deter other 'big nations' from inviting them to tour for test matches and since ZC can't afford to host their own test matches a big loss could send Zimbabwe into the test wilderness once again.

So from what I can see the players only have a small amount of games to prepare for this match

Eagles v Rhinos December 3-6

Tuskers v Goats December 3-6

Tuskers v Rhinos December 12-15

Rising Stars v Goats December 12-15

There are also some Pro50 Championship matches in between bu these are the final 4 day matches prior to the only warm up game in South Africa

Sth Africa XI v Zimbabwe December 20-22 ( 3 day match also day night game )

Also the BPL doesn't finish until the 12th of December so depending on how the tournament pans out some of the Zimbabwean players like Cremer, Raza, Mire & Waller might not even get a 4 day game in before the tour starts.

I'll be very disappointed if we don't see full strength sides for Friday's Logan Cup matches, the preparation for this huge game looks to be under cooked to me.

World Cup Qualification is more important then these low voltage one off Boxing Day Test, just given Zimbabwe a chance because of touring team going to arrive a month later.

Pro 50 and One Day Internationals remaining are most important now, and failing to qualify will also affect Zimbabwe Cricket finance. Rest of the Logan Cup matches should be postponed as there is nothing left for Zimbabwe in test cricket, as they can't host test matches and other opposition are least interested in playing test against Zimbabwe, just three months left for world cup qualification, interest should be on shorter format and building team for the qualifiers.

Associate nation who are going to take part have already started building teams, and bringing their star players back playing leagues in other country. Windies & Afghans will be stronger then Zimbabwe. Irish will be equivalent to Zimbabwe. Netherland & Scotland are inconsistent, but have the material to surprise.

was the Pakistan A tour completely cancelled? I think we need that game time to add to the Logan Cup games. as for the qualifier, I think 2 months is enough to prepare. January and February already have about 9 ODIs guaranteed. I'm sure we will get a few more games.

The Boxing day test is very important. we need to place ourselves in a position where we can play a one off test against teams touring S.A.. if we get rolled over in 3 days then many teams won't see the point

I Like the idea of Chamu in at 8 ! He’s gonna offer the same as Don with the ball and more with the bat. Idea of Kasuza is madness in my on-the-ground opinion. He’s rubbish.

I’d go,

1. Solomon Mire (just on the off chance)
2. Ham
3. Craig
4. BT
5. Willo
6. PJ
7. Raza
8. Chamu
9. Cremer
10. Jarv
11. Chatara.
