As per his clues...it might be Glenn Querl he is speaking about, yes he left cricket after being banned for his illegal bowling action, now working as coach in UAE
Quite so, you know that, I know that, I dare say everyone else on the forum knows that, it just seems that one member doesn't ..........

I thought Henry Quilt was in Canada?
So much emphasis is put on coaches but the reality is that a coach is a manager. At best he tries to keep everyone mostly happy and is probably more a psychologist with a degree in diplomacy or plays a firmer hand depending on his own character or if there are strong minded individuals in the side. The individuals lean more on the specialist coaches within the team. I know a lot of the top batsmen have their own guys outside of the technical staff that they also rely on and the technical staff are mostly throwers and give a bit of guidance here and there. When you’ve got young guys in the side you really need good senior players, and this is obviously our Achilles heel.
If Toyana is in the mix then there’s a good chance he’ll get the gig. ZC have done this a couple of times, hoping there’s some connection with the black players and there never is. Being black doesn’t make you a Zimbabwean. Alan Butcher was probably the one guy that really made an effort to understand the black guys, probably at the expense of relationships with the white guys.
Anyway let the circus continue.

I know this has been asked millions of times, but they have literally drifted completely off the scale.... also plummeting to new lows in odis etc.....is there any point in Zimbabwe having test status anymore? Should it be taken away?

Lalchand Rajput has reportedly applied for the post of the head coach of the Delhi Ranji team. That makes one thing very clear...

Not really. It either means they’ve sacked him or he doesn’t want to coach here. Even these numpties can’t sack a coach after such a short stint. There’s no upside for a foreign coach, the Zim side is going to keep getting whipped, so if you’re a foreigner you want this to be your last gig before retirement because it’s not going to look good on your resumé.
