Re: [Match Thread]: Pak tour of Zim Odi Series : 1st Match : ZIM vs PAK
Enjoy..? Cringe, I think you mean.
Ryan Burl should have been in this squad. I know I keep banging on about it but the bloke hasn't had an easy run of it since he started last year, with batting out of position, against world class spinners or in the wrong format.
Open the batting with him and Mire, discard Chibabhab and Chigumbura and just retain some faith in Hamilton Mazakadza. I still think he has a lot to offer to the table, personally.

With Mire out
My lineup is
1 Kamunhukamwe
2 Hami experience on the other side
3 PJ Moor
4Musakanda
5Chigumbura / Waller each playing 2 games as they retirement package..
6 Murray / Roche each playing 2 games to experience international cricket
7 Chari trying in the middle order is not a bad idea the has failed as opener in international games
8 Chisoro
9 Titipano
10 Chatara
11 Blessing M

It's insanity if Roche and Murray aren't gifted at least a game each. If they are happy to be in the squad and forfeit the opportunity to qualify for England, may as well select them and make a certainty of it.
As for the rest of the squad, given the notable outs this is probably about as good as it gets.
Brian Chari - not sold, at least he has a bit of form in those meaningless T20s I guess
Tendai Chatara - automatic selection
Chamu Chibhabha - almost time to be ushered out IMO
Elton Chigumbura - past it
Tendai Chisoro - no complaints, probably our best spinner now...
Tinashe Kamunhukamwe - deserves a shot, better prospect than Twinkle Toes Zhuwao
Hamilton Masakadza - might be nearing the end, but could turn it around; still an automatic selection
Wellington Masakadza - no complaints
Peter Moor - needs to start performing; an average of 18 after 30 games is very average
Ryan Murray - give him a game
Tarisai Musakanda - probably our most promising young player, automatic selection IMO
Blessing Muzarabani - our most promising bowler, automatic selection
Richard Ngarava - wouldn't have picked him
Liam Roche - give him a game
Donald Tiripano - Test specialist IMO
Malcolm Waller - past it
1 Chibhabha
2 Chari
3 H Masakadza (c)
4 Musakanda
5 Moor (wk)
6 Kamunhukamwe
7 Roche/Murray (wk)
8 Chisoro
9 Tiripano
10 W Masakadza
11 Muzarabani
The bowling is good to defend 350.
The batting is good to post 150

Re: [Match Thread]: Pak tour of Zim Odi Series : 1st Match : ZIM vs PAK
Prince Masvaure should have been in the squad, over last one year he is not getting picked despite scoring lots of runs in domestic cricket & A games.
Selection of Chigumbura & Chibhabha implies conflict of interest with Chawaguta & Utseya

Prince Masvaure good player just needs to get fitter. Then he'll be a definite.

If you can’t be ready for your shot at international cricket because you can’t pass a Zimbabwe fitness test that Taylor and Masakadza can waddle through I’d suggest you’re shit and will always be shit
You can make allowances if you’re Inzy or a Levy or a Stirling or a Taylor, but having said that how badly can he do, mediocrity would be a magnificent improvement.

Who famously said “just put a lunch bar on a length” about a batsman?
This is all a farce, it needs to end. We should make Singo chairman

Well somehow he is miraculously in the team now.
