BREAKING: just received info that SRC has lifted the suspension of the Directors of ZC, including Acting MD, with immediate effect.

"The Interim Committee accordingly ceases to administer the affairs of Zimbabwe Cricket forthwith."

BUNCH OF JOKERS!!!

Why did people like DEB, Hogg and others get involved in these shambles?

If SRC did not have a plan in place, why did they even get into this shit? Bunch of jokers.

I think the ICC simply didn't leave them with an option. Got to understand you cannot risk expulsion.

This surely means the ICC will lift the suspension in October which is good news for Zimbabwe Cricket. Hopefully this episode means people have learnt their lesson and that ZC will be better managed. I certainly hope so.

This was the right and only decision available to save cricket in this country. The ICC ruling gave no other choice... Members here can complain and froth at the mouth as much as they want, bit the reality there's no way the people in power will allow Zim to be banned and lose access to ICC funds

Imagine the guys who pitched up for work on August 1... suicidal.

As I said before. 1 or 2 days too late. Typical Zimbabwean politics. Anyway.. lets move on from this stronger. Hopefully the SRC have secured a credible election in the future.

Something tells me the ICC replacing us caught all of them off guard. I dont even think Mukuhlani expected that. This is why the ladies were still training and we were confirming tours. The deal was coming but the ICC screwed them over anyway. Very ominous sign. They want us gone. I dont give it 3 more years before they question our full member status if we dont get our act together and start producing positive results on the pitch. In fact if we come last in that ODI league we are done.

What concessions did the SRC eke out? I expected the reinstatement to be honest but as I said a few pages back I didn't expect it to be with immediate effect. Kirsty Coventry, since she came in, has always talked about putting the athletes first and I suspect she pressured this compromise. But will the ICC ease up? Were they only motivated by Mukuhlani?

I bet they've itching to come down on Zim like a hammer and won't let this opportunity slip through their fingers. We won't be ejected but we'll be suspended indefinitely and won't get ICC cash - at least we'll play bilateral series against sympathisers like Afghanistan, Bangladesh and maybe SA. And with no ICC money Mukuhlani's pals won't be interested in ZC much longer than a couple years.

They do want us gone. Who likes a misbehaving beggar? Better an enterprising street kid with potential to make it rich given an opportunity. Our misbehaviour is now seen in comparison with potential gains of a Nigeria or US. We screwed ourselves, our credit rating is shot to hell.

EDIT:

Official word from SRC.

What gets me is that so much has gone on behind the scenes yet we will never really get to the bottom of what was said. There’s no way Mukhulani has gotten away scot free, he will have had his wings clipped in some way.
We’re used to injustice here and the bad guys continually walking away or winning, but this is particularly galling.
That STD Board misjudged this about as much as anybody can. Anyway we move on and will continue to watch them pilfering with impunity. I’ve always been sympathetic with the plight of the players, but no longer, you reap what you sow. There’s a time limit on cricket here after this. The first kick of a dying horse.

Congrats to Mukhu, his band of thieves and his supporters.

Can't wait for the day to watch a a 43 year old Hamilton lead out the Zim team in their WCL Division 2 fixture against Oman. Maybe Elton will score more than 15 then, and John Nyumbu will get the ball to turn. Perhaps Richie will last at the crease longer than 5 minutes and Waller will be our number 3 batsman.

Meanwhile the Currans will be leading England to an ashes series win, whilst Taylor is on the coaching staff at a county winning side at Notts. Raza has just been appointed batting coach for a BPL side and Ervine joins his brother in setting up a coaching academy in Ireland.

Exciting times ahead.
