Thats the risk of playing such ultra defensive cricket as a strategy. Some easy singles being missed because the batters are in the mindset of just playing out dots. Builds unnecessary pressure.

I know agreed with Taps, BRMT, and Jaybro last game...but this kind of strategy backfires way more often than it works. If you look at the Test Zimbabwe drew vs WI a couple years back...it was because they scored 300+ in the second innings (equivalent to scoring 400+ in the first innings). It was not because they just blocked out 150 overs.

This is just horrible for the spectator and the whole side in general.

These two openers are not skilled enough to pick out the obvious singles. These lankan bowlers aren't world class. Hamilton and even Vusi would strike at, at least 50...

There have been soo many singles that should have been taken. 0.6 per over is not a tactic.

Ya I agree.
There was a slight midfield from Fernando off his own bowling and the ball deflected to the left of mid on, and Prince just turned his back and walked to square leg. There’s zero intensity what so ever. I’m all for the batters showing respect for the first half hour/hour, but c’mon, at least keep proactive

Scoring rate has picked up a bit now to an acceptable rate.

There was one where Prince turned it to square leg and set off for the run and Kevin just stared at the ball. It was then pointed out by Dirk in commentary how Kevin was failing to back up. Like just sits in the crease and has no intent to look for runs. I love insightful cricket. Those little nuances and moments that define a game.

It's something the aussies are so good at.

21-0. Solid if not unspectacular...
We need to seriously look to rotate the strike better
