Aliseni was damned quick. He even invested in his own speed gun when he was trying to make a comeback, but had an enormous weight issue which caused other problems.

There’s a multiplier effect.zimbos_05 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 10:16 amThe whole point of the game is to score more runs. You can't really blame the middle order guys here, they did their job.TapsC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 9:49 amSo we scored about 50 runs more with a more positive approach but batted about 30 overs less. So 50 runs versus 1 session? I don't know. I guess we will see how this test plays out. It will settle the debate
Mutombodzi is the perfect number 8 for me in all formats with Burl opening. Then Hami guaranteed Chamu a place in the team smh. In fact I would bat him higher than Regis if I was in charge. Let's see if he can contribute with the ball. Definitely better than Ainsley.
More runs, more time in the middle to pass, then to exceed, them by a comfortable amount by the opposition . And more time for something to go wrong for the batters.
It’s highly unlikely that they will get 650ish to find zim in the position they were in the first, 200 and something runs behind.
And please never forget that when batsmen stonewall, it’s easy to spot, strategise a field to it and bowl accordingly.
It’s very rare to see even the best batsmen do this for a day.

Tiripano deserved that one. He's a reliable bowler - if he's your third or fourth seamer and can play a Peter Siddle like containment role, then it's all good. Tough for him to be the attack leader though. But he's bowled well.

This game is actually going to be a good battle of the run rates. Sri Lanka are batting very slowly.
Ervine needs to replace Prince immediately. That chance would have put us well on top.

Just going off cricinfo it seems as if the Don is bowling super economically and also creating chances.
The loss of Williams as a bowling option will hurt us all through this innings.

Perhaps Taylor could roll his arm over a few times. Raza is creating a few chances.

What would be a tough chase in the fourth innings?
