In case you're keeping an eye on Zim's chances of winning Pool B - there are two matches in the pool this week which is a bye for ZImbabwe Provinces):
Namibia v Free State - I'd like to see Namibia win this, myself, but with these two teams propping up the table, the result is irrelevant to who qualifies for the final.
Griqualand West v Easterns - Griqualand West are currently top of the pool, and a win for them would probably put them beyond Provinces' reach. A win for Easterns would leave the top spot just about within Provinces' reach, but still relying on results to go their way during the final rounds.

That horrible bloke Charl Pietersen scored a career best 87 and then took 5-29.

Makes me worry a bit about the standard of this competition, because I just remember him being rubbish in county cricket...Train Driver wrote:That horrible bloke Charl Pietersen scored a career best 87 and then took 5-29.

I don't think there is any standard to speak of - it is amateur cricket I'm led to believe.aydee wrote:Makes me worry a bit about the standard of this competition, because I just remember him being rubbish in county cricket...Train Driver wrote:That horrible bloke Charl Pietersen scored a career best 87 and then took 5-29.

Fair enough, but amateur or not, it is still first class cricket...brmtaylor.com admin wrote:I don't think there is any standard to speak of - it is amateur cricket I'm led to believe.aydee wrote:Makes me worry a bit about the standard of this competition, because I just remember him being rubbish in county cricket...Train Driver wrote:That horrible bloke Charl Pietersen scored a career best 87 and then took 5-29.

Quite right aydee, if it's recognised as a 1st class match then that's what it is.
Meanwhile, in Kimberley, things are looking even worse now. Griqualand made 302 in their 2nd innings after having been 177-8 and set Easterns 393 to win. With a little over half an hour of day 2 remaining Easterns are 67-2 with Pietersen having taken both wickets.

An easy win for Griqualand West today.
They dismissed Easterns for 183 giving them a 209 run win, 17 points and a highly probable place in the final.
If only a couple of Zim batsmen could have got their heads down last week
