I would completely agree with zimfan1. He has been skilful and consistent. Think about our recent test wins. He has done well in them. Only 31 too. A real shame.

Yea he’s certainly the best since Heath Streak.
He has a lot to offer still and I honestly hope he reconsiders.

I don’t understand why Jarv doesn’t just last time the WC campaign. He’s never played one. It all makes sense for that to be his swan song.
He’s obviously not going to be one of these it’s that cling to a small cricket contract for dear life like a lot we know of, but how can a World Cup not be on the bucket list ?
Could be the last WC zim play.

I don’t hold much hope in us reaching the world cup

Maybe he just doesn’t like international cricket. 49 ODIs . 22 T20s .13 Test matches. That isn’t much of an international career. I personally don’t agree that he is the best bowler we have had after Streak but he is a quality bowler and a big loss

Who do you reckon is the best seamer since Streak?

Tests, yes--even though Jarvis' record is on par with Chatara and Panyangara; but I rate Jarvis higher as a natural red-ball wicket taker.

In limited overs Chatara for me.

I personally think Chatara has been a huge beneficiary of playing against weaker teams than the old guard.

That is true for all the folks who played post 2004. So, that would apply to Jarvis as well.

I concur with this. It is neck and neck between Chatara and Jarvis for the best after Streak honours (and we can't go by potentially what a Blignaut or an Olonga could have been etc.) From which fast bowler has Zimbabwe cricket benefited the most after Streak? It comes down to Jarvis and Chatara.

And for most parts when Jarvis has played, he has had the luxury of Chatara at the other end, which Chatara hasn't always had when Jarvis was away. He has toiled as a lone quality bowler in the lineup with little support. That edges the argument towards Chatara for me.

Having looked at this carefully I think I would have to change my mind and say it’s a tie between Jarvis and Chatara. Crazy to see Raza and Williams up there when they are part timers
