Half a keeper who can consistently score 45+ and the odd 80 is better than Regis
Full disclosure; I was a wicketkeeper when I played - so maybe thats why I disagree. In 5-day cricket you need a very good glovesman - unless they are absolutely world class with the bat. PJ doesn't even often have the gloves for Tuskers even....
Why doesnt he focus on it, he could get in to the team so much easier couldnt he?
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on PJ. He's a good keeper but when I've seen him keep he seems to often lose focus and decline during the days play. Maybe its more of a mental/concentration issue. I've seen him look very ropey with the gloves towards the end of an innings several times. Thats why I wouldn't give him the gloves in Tests, unless he was absolutely tonking it with the bat and suddenly went up a level.

The ironic thing is, with all the injuries we have, he probably would have been in this squad as a batsman....

I'd honestly open with Don and bolster the middle order when all the big names are back. He can't be worse than Prince and KK on current form.

I would select Donald not Duck for his batting.
Make him open.
Technique is better than the opening pair.
Cool and calm at the crease too

Musakanda, Shumba, Wes, Kaia, Ervine, Williams, Taylor, Burl, Raza - we have 9 players fighting for 4 positions in the team at numbers 3-6.

Two of these guys really need to step up to transform themselves into openers.

Out of those, I think Musakanda and the two youngsters are best placed. Ervine, Williams and BT are shoo-ins with Raza and Burl able to slot in anywhere, Kaia as a reserve for injuries. Wesley and Milton imo could end up as a brilliant opening pair some day, I see no harm in letting Milton open alongside Prince for the next game in case Kasuza whiffs again.

Niiice shot Don :4:

I agree but who else is there?
Ryan Murray. Pj Moor. Joylord gumbie or to try younger former u19 keepers till we find a good keeper
Have you been reading this forum? These first two players are not available.

I know they are not available. I was just saying that they need to be considered at some point when they finally get rid of Chakabva

All over for 176. Terrible score but I mean we're missing our captain and two more starting batsmen. Went about as expected, I have no hope for this game so seeing Kaia get a good 48 felt nice, same for Shumba making some runs. Blessing and co have work to do now.
